Taking the long route to get things started
We are putting together our best efforts to contribute to the mobility industry. So much phenomenal work is going on around the world in this sector, it feels awkward to just sit back and consume. Our team at Advanced Dynamics believes that we ought to be the producer and promoter of next generation transport, instead of just being the recipient. So we created our first project, Tanguar Racing, with the aim of participating in global electric motorsport events, someway or another.
In February this year, we joined 3 other teams from around the world to be a competitor at the 80 Day Race in 2020. We are challenged with completed more than 35000km around the world in a time limit of 80 days or less. Whoever has the least time, wins. And yes, we have to do this in a vehicle that doesn’t use fossil fuel. Check out the announcement here: https://80dr.com/excitement-builds-as-the-first-race-teams-have-registered/ It’s not impossible. Our fellow competitors like Chris Ramsey from Plugin Adventures have done in it the Mongol Rally, Wiebe Wakker is on the road since 2016 and clocked already 56,000km; Tejas did it in his Solar Tuk Tuk, and Storm Eindhoven from Eindhoven University of Technology did it with their electric touring bike in 2018. There are many more. But for us, it is and will be absolutely terrifying and completely unknown. And we intend to make challenging projects such as these part of our DNA from this point onwards. Why are we, an amateur team of motorsport infants, doing this? We are from Bangladesh, and our cities face the deepest of challenges when solving urban transportation. Our communities need to immediately break free from infrastructure worries, implementation drawbacks and behavioural stigma. We need to ditch the fossil fuel transport system and clean up our neighbourhoods. Its the only way forward, and our team feels our adventurous effort will help our communities to explore and take risks as well.
Till that happens, for now, let the race preparation begin!
