George’s 80′s birthday
Disco Cake. The cakes are all vanilla sponges with the base tier being filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream while the second tier and disco ball cake are filled with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream. To create the disco ball a sphere cake was baked and covered in grey fondant with individual square panels then being added and finally being sprayed in edible silver shimmer spray to make it look more realistic. The other tiers are decorated with peace signs and disco dancer silhouettes and disco balls.
80s themed 40th birthday cake
I love 80s themed cake. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with a layer of dark chocolate ganache and covered in black fondant icing. The Etch-a-Sketch, Rubik's Cube and 80s badge are all shortbread biscuits covered in fondant decoration. The Rubik's cube was made by sandwiching 3 separate square biscuits on top of each other and then covering in fondant to give the appearance that the layers of the cube could move. Finally, around the cake I made a Pac-man design and had the four ghosts chasing Pac-man as he went round the cake eating the pills and spaced the various bonus fruits (cherries, strawberry, pear and apple) within the line of pills.
