Inktober day 2: Here's a 80's cyberpunk-style leather clad enforcer. Part of Inktober is improving your inking skills, so I'm trying to tackle techniques I've avoided in the past. Feathering is one of those things that I love the look of, but have been terrible at. I deliberately designed my art style so I wouldn't have to do any sort of feathering. I was really inspired more by artists like Phil Hester and Mike Mignola, who employ a hard-edge shading style. But recently I found the Art of The Force Awakens, which had some concept art that seemed inspired by Cam Kennedy's work on Star Wars Dark Empire. This lead to some of Kennedy's Judge Dredd work, which included some great feathering techniques.
