Ghost final design
It took me a while, but I finally settled on a design for Ghost that I like. Hardest part is keeping the distinctive 49' 88 Rocket grille...but also make part of his mouth in a way that's easy to draw and attractive.
He doesn't have rearview mirrors cause they keep getting torn off. He normally has Wilkis (his team's medic) tape his headlights to keep broken glass from taking out people's tires while they're running moonshine.
I decided on an 88 Rocket for Doc's sire because the Rocket is considered by many to be the first American muscle car. Before the Hudson Hornets came to dominate the early NASCAR circuits, it was the 88 Rocket that was tearing up the track with its 303 cubic inch, overhead valve V8. It seemed fitting that the best racer of the early Piston cup years be the offspring of one of the fastest and most powerful cars of his time.
Had I been going for period/historical accuracy, Ghost would have been a 1950 Ford Coupe since he was inspired by Tweedle-O-Twill, a mysterious Kentucky moonshiner whom inspired the movie Thunder Road and the Ballad of Thunder Road.
Anywho, Imma stop gabbing for the night. Tho one shameless plug before I turn in: Chapter eight of my Doc fanfic (Moments in Time) is on A03. Take a gander!
