C, F, J, L, M, U (or best), & W for ongaku thing!

C. What’s your least favorite instrument to play?
C is for Clarinet! Sorry to any who play this instrument, but when I play it, it feels kinda dead in my mouth compared to flute or sax or oboe. Plus the throat register is unpleasant and the low-register fingerings being not an octave below the ones they correspond to above the break sorta trips me up. All of these things would probably be resolved with enough practice, tbh, but at the current moment, it’s definitely the instrument I’m least comfortable with.
F. Got a good music joke?
DO I?
What’s the definition of a half-step?
Two flutes trying to play the same note
How does an oboist make a million dollars?
Start with two million.
A C, an Eb, and a G walk into a bar. The bartender looks over at the Eb and says: “Get out sonny, we don’t serve minors.”
One day, a little boy wants to learn the tuba. He goes to his first lesson and comes back right before dinnertime. His dad asks: “what did you learn today?”. The boy replies “Today I learned how to play ‘C’!”. The next day, he goes to his lesson and comes back a little bit later. His father asks again and the boy responds “Today I learned how to play ‘G’!”. The next day, the boy leaves and doesn’t get back until one in the morning. The father flies into an anxious rage. “WHERE WERE YOU SON?” The boy replies “I had a gig!”.
What’s the difference between a baritone sax and a chainsaw?
A) Vibrato
B) Dynamics
What’s the difference between a large pizza and a concert violist?
A large pizza can feed a family of four
What’s the difference between the viola and the violin?
There’s no difference, but the violinist’s head makes the instrument look smaller.
How many sopranos does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
Two: One to stand on the ladder and another one to stand by and say “Isn’t that a little bit high for you, dear?”
Zero: Just get an alto to actually do it
How do you get two piccolos in tune?
Shoot one.
How do you get a guitarist to stop playing?
Put sheet music in front of them.
How do you get a pianist to stop?
Take the sheet music away.
I’m going to stop now. I am a joke. A bad one. But a musical one.
J. Last song you had stuck in your head?
Mvt. 3 of the First Suite in Eb, Gustav Holst
L, M, U, W - done (alternate answer for U: my band director making farting noises on his trumpet while the pit orchestra was trying to tune)
So I've found that my rib cage collapses a lot when I sing, and its hard to keep it open. I'm fairly well endowed, so I think its my chest that keeps putting weight on it and pushing it down. Do you think a specific kind of bra might help? Or any other advice aside from just working on it and strengthening my core? (sorry if this is a really weird ask, its just not quite something I want to ask my male voice teachers)
I haven’t experienced anything like that before, no. It definitely takes a lot of work to “fight the squeeze,” as I call it, and I like to use a few points on my torso to help guide me in this work. One is on your diaphragm, a couple of inches above your belly button. Another is on your obliques. And the third is just to the inside of your hip bones. All of these points are great places to feel the lean and support that we want to experience as we sing, and if we can get these muscles engaging as we sing, we’re going to have a more engaged core. Try pressing in with your thumbs into any of these areas, and saying a powerful, “ha” sound. You will feel those muscles punch out with the sound. That kind of action and engaging is what we want to feel (with less punch, of course) as we work! Hope that helps!
Hey there! So this is zamakiko from pkmncollect. I finally got around to /really/ checking out your tumblr, and oh my goodness, your plushes are so cute. ALSO OH MY GODNESS CUBONE IS ADORABLE I'M SO EXCITED!! I am amazed at the sheer amount of pokemon plushes you have made. I have a dream goal to make at least the 151 but, I am super novice at making patterns, and my work ethic is terrible.
Oh hi! ^W^ And thank you! (I’m glad you like Cubone so far! I hope to have him finished real soon!) that’s so cool that you want make 151! I actually started out trying to do that I got to like 50 something before I ran outta steam ^^ Pattern making can be difficult but a good way to improve on them is to look at other plushies or take them apart to look at the pieces :)
you are trash i and i want a refund

Candle and necromancer!
Candle:List at least three of your biggest passions
I love cosplay to death. It’s what helped me get so many friends, Drawing is a huge stress reliever for me when I feel overwhelmed, and astrology is big for me.
Necromancer:Had any prominent supernatural experiences?
Atm I think there’s an evil spirit in my house. I’m a roommate and I feel like my landlord is carrying on a demon and it’s really nerving... Luckly I’m moving in a month!
So its kind of a basic question, but I was wondering what kind of fabric you would use to sew a blouse, specifically damara's shirt. When I originally got started on this costume I bought a fair amount broad cloth to use to make it, but since then have heard all about how broad cloth is not great for cosplay purposes. Thank for your help
Well it’s not that broadcloth is terrible or anything, it’s just not the highest quality. If it’s just a shirt you’re making, you can do a stretch cotton that will be comfortable and fall nicely. There are also plenty of options in the “blouse” materials sections of JoAnns and Hancock fabrics, if you want something which is specifically meant for making tops. Depending on the style of shirt, though, you could always pick up a blank shirt in the right color and alter it to fit your needs.
If you want to use the broadcloth you already bought, I’d say toss it in the washer and drier a few times. That’ll help loosen the fabric. It’ll look a lot less stiff and be a bit more comfortable. Just make sure to wash alone or with like colors since it’s that dark red!
SWIGGITY SWASK ITS AN ASK
So apparently asks are rebloggable now and they look different.
