The sun was just above the horizon behind the thick line of trees that surrounded the base grounds, coloring the earth with soft hues of pink and orange that was breaking away the darkness of the early morning. Not many were up at this hour despite the dedicated few, or those with sleep issues, leaving a silence to hang in the air. Outside his camper Knowlen was half dressed in his jeans and military boots as he checked on the line of clothes that hung from a pole to his homes wall. The color of the slowly rising sun basking his tan and scar painted skin with a warm tint that made the red hues in his dark hair more vibrant than usual; the black ink of his single tattoo at the center of his back seeming even darker in the colored light, making it stand out. His camper door was open, allowing out the delicous smells of his cooking breakfast and fresh coffee to greet the morning. Giving a sense of peace to the base that was almost home.
