But it does, and he can’t feel his legs, can’t fathom what it would be like to walk again.Sweeps pass. He’s grown larger, taller, more determined to live for himself and not for others. He hasn’t moved on, not quite yet. He knows that he should, that holding grudges won’t get him anywhere, but he believes himself petty and holds on to the want, the need for revenge.He meets Vris online. They speak once, twice, more often than he would like for someone he is supposed to hate. Someone he’s determined to hate, because she’s spawned off the demon of his past, the alternate of his tormentor and she- she’s not the reason he’s like this, he knows this. But he blames her all the same.Tavros would never admit it, but he’s grown to enjoy her company. There’s the fear, the feeling that maybe one day, she’ll reveal herself to be exactly the monster he believed her to be. Now, it takes all his effort to push those thoughts aside and to remember that this isn’t her.Vris offers him another brawl when he’s upset. He accepts her offer, pushes back and fights with all he’s got, because this is the person who did this to him. The feeling he can never shake, the momentum, the need to hurt her. He doesn’t, of course. She’s far more skilled, and he rests on the floor, humiliated and tired. She stands over him quietly and he bursts into tears.She hugs him and doesn’t say a word. He fights against her at first, but it isn’t long before he gives up and accepts that she’s there for him, that this isn’t the childhood bully that ruined his life. Tears stream down his face but a weight has lifted now, and he begins to hug her back. There’s a feeling of ending, and it’s almost as if he was falling down again, but he’s grabbed by one hand and he’s being pulled back up, and things are different now.They talk more online. She comes to his hive every once in a while, and they bond over Spyro and he gets her to listen to the entire Sonic Adventure 2 Battle soundtrack for hours. The need for revenge is gone, and Tavros is happier now and he can only hope that Vris is too.

young me was way more imaginative than i am right now! but i guess being young does that. now instead of wolf explorations, i think of ways to improve upon targeting systems for lasers.
