i know they're not gonna do this storyline justice necessarily, but i am happy to see 9-1-1 trying here, because any mainstream art that humanizes folks who are oppressed is a good thing. The imagery of Esteban, Inez, and the others we don't see named screaming for help and not being heard because they're silenced by their circumstances is so important for your everyday viewer to see. Their resilience is important for your everyday viewer to see. Help only truly able to reach them when it's outside the system is important for your everyday viewer to see. The reality of their experience embodied by all of them in the hospital is important for your everyday viewer to see. Art matters so much, even when it's network TV.
