SAM WINCHESTER IN EVERY SPN EPISODE (82/327)
SAM WINCHESTER in profile ➤ 12/?
SUPERNATURAL 6.19 | MOMMY DEAREST
i like that he's talking to cas abt this because sam isn't there
Authentic Dean Feelings as a treat
wearing the robe........so cute.........
he doesn't know anything lmfao
don't spell that out for dean beloved he will use it against you when he's mad at you <3
it is really annoying to even SKIM a lot of this fandom because of the way dean's role as objectively righteous places him within the audience's language
same shirt 2x12 and 3x04
all i can make out that its a guy in an old timey swimsuit like this
tried having a look into this but unfortunately the best i found was this live journal post. the photobucket link is unavailable now though and i had no luck finding it on internet archive

Sam and Dean + original character descriptions
“So yeah, before y'all see Supernatural a lot of work has gone into it, but a lot of work has gone into us trying to figure out every second.” (NJCon 2018)
thinking about the instances where sam & dean compared each other to john, with dean using it as a means to insult sam vs sam using it (on both the giving and receiving end) to take a stand for the other party (against things sam himself was subjected to). and the phrasing, dean using “were” (and implying “are” present tense) definitive statements vs sam questioning dean and saying that he’s getting dangerously close to being like john.
dean saying to sam “you two were practically the same person” and “you were more like him than i will ever be” in jump the shark after dean was against giving adam the choice to learn about the supernatural and how to protect himself.
and then sam saying “you want to watch out for them. that’s great. i’m just asking, how do you do that and not turn into dad?” in two and a half men about dean moving lisa & ben around and keeping them on lockdown. and then “what’s up with all the orders? you’re starting to sound like dad” in the big empty about dean ordering jack around.
also in jump the shark, they never met the real adam, and this was way after they discovered that. there was no reason for dean to say that except to hurt sam, as he does when sam opposes him. this time it was about sam’s accepting of adam as a Winchester and sam & dean being at odds over how they regard john’s parenting, despite sam finally “agreeing” with it after being severely criticized his entire life for opposing it (important that sam was in support of the Right to Information, which is the opposite of john, and not of the controlling aspect). all of that compared to two and a half men and the big empty where dean is actively in the midst of controlling people he claims to know best for.
aliusfrater tags: "weaponised comparison vs comparison made out an observation of behaviour. like when analysed, sam's behaviour is legitimately not a 1:1 unknowingly emulation of john while dean's IS. it kind of reminds me of how differently sam is able to go about helping dean from his position within their relationship vs what dean is able to do. there is more of an authority over sam's body wrt dean's instances than there is for sam about dean. think: 6.05 vs 6.07 or 6.11. it's like sam doesn't Have or want the narrative/language/familial authority to make a direct comparison. which is also exacerbated by the context of dean's comparisons vs sam's; dean's as usually taking place when dean's control over a circumstance is threatened (specifically by sam's actions) vs sam's while giving commentary on a situation within which dean has known authority over someone else/other people."
