I started with @the-wip-project 14 days of Storybible and I might as well go for the 90-day draft project too.
Start: February 20, 2022 Finish: May 21, 2022 (90 Days)
Goal: 40,000-65,000 additional words, complete start-to-finish draft
“Accountability” post
This project doesn’t live rent-free in my mind, it crashed into my brain in October last year, set up shop, turned on the machinery, began churning out story, and hasn’t stopped since. At this point I am close on 66,000 words including some worldbuilding and background, and around 58,000 of actual narrative at last check.
I want to use the project time to fill in the narrative gaps--there are many--and get a real first draft actually finished. Given the way this project is working for me I would prefer to work on completing needed scenes as opposed to a strict word count. Having said that, I expect to add somewhere in the realm of 40,000-65,000 additional words by the end of the project. My pace thus far is 800-1200 words per day, so I see this as a reasonable goal.
I realize the stated goal works out to 450-870 words per day, much less than my current pace, but I’m allowing for one day of no writing per week. I get to play my main character in a TTRPG. The project started as their backstory. No written words, but still development. Even then, I’ll probably still write those days.
I already moved and organized what I have in Scrivener. I have a structure and an outline. I really want to finish this one. I have a goal. I have a map. I am ready to go!
Or, more accurately, keep on going as before, but now with friends.
