Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #588
Once more, I began today with breathing life into a couple wishes for ya:
...And then I jumped into Valheim. Though this time, I jumped into my solo world, instead of the tutorial world I've been doing with J.
The very first thing I did was place the rest of the available feasts on the table:
We have, from left to right, “Swamp Dweller's Delight”, “Whole Roasted Meadow Boar”, “Black Forest Buffet Platter”, “Sailor's Bounty”, and the “Hearty Mountain Logger's Stew”, which we made before.
...I cooked a few other things, too, for later use:
I went to the Mountains after that.
This time, I marked the spawn locations of wolves, and then I kept coming back after dark; two-star wolves spawn only at night. And I discovered, very annoyingly, that wolves which spawn at night flee to the far-off distance when dawn comes. Which is why there was no trace of that other two-star wolf we found last time we tried searching. Remember?
Well. I found another two-star wolf:
...I had it chase me all the way back to that wolf pit I made a while back, and then I sealed it in. And then I left some meat inside to tame it.
...It worked. And you can see below that two-star wolves are significantly larger than ordinary wolves:
...Before long, I had new two-star wolf puppies:
...This is a very good thing. I'm sure I'm not gonna need much in the way of wolf meat or pelts anytime soon, but they've got more hit points and they hit things harder, which will help them a lot when they try to protect my base.
I decided to go to Yagluth after that. I suspected that the continent where the Bog Witch is and the continent where the summoning spot for Yagluth is was the same continent, based on context clues from the map. So off I went...
...I found it. Those funky-looking rocks in the distance, with the Fuling camp out front:
You have to put 5 of these thingies on the altar:
...So I did that.
...And then he showed up.
He breathes very long streams of fire!!! And he summons meteors from the sky!!! And he slams his fist down on the ground to create a big burst of blue flames that burn for several seconds on the ground afterwards!!! And also, other Fulings, and Deathsquitos, and Growths were also trying to kill me at the same time. But I whittled him down slowly, even though it was hard to get a hit in edgewise:
...It took several attempts. But he fell to me nonetheless.
And then this guy randomly showed up:
...Man. Ya been here the whole time and only just now decided to say hello? Ugh, rude!!
Anyway, with Yagluth's drops, I made a thingy that attracts wisps, I guess.
...And with Yagluth's defeat, the Bog Witch sold another kind of spice mix, which I promptly used to make this:
...I can't believe how yummy that looks...!!
With wisps in hand, I made a Wisplight and went to the Mistlands. Normally, you can't see through the spooky purple haze (...relatable, perhaps...?), but the blue sparkly following me fixes that:
...I met a hare! These are the new deer, I guess. They drop meat and scaly skins on death. Sadly, you cannot tame them.
I found a couple new kinds of mushrooms, too!
I also met this thing:
...It spits lava. I didn't know that it spits lava. So it... uh... it kinda kicked my ass the first time around. Though in my defense, it fucking spits lava. Like, at you. Frequently. Holy shit.
...Actually, on second thought... maybe it's bile...? But it burns, like A LOT, and it has an area effect like bombs so... I don't actually know. It's probably bile. But it looks like lava and burns. So I'm gonna keep treating it like lava.
...I was prepared the second time around, when I returned to get my stuff. I knew what to expect. It didn't get the better of me a second time. And it dropped... bile bags... I guess...??? Though I dunno what they're gonna be used for.
The next thing to do, I guess, is try to find a Dvergr Village. There's nothing for it but to wander around the Mistlands until I find one and hope I'm not taken out by some new creature in the meantime.
...I can't wait to show you more. But I think that's gonna hafta wait until tomorrow, because now, it is time for bed. And actually on time, too, for once...
I love you so much. So please stay safe out there. Stay safe so that someday you can maybe play a cool game like this with someone who loves you. I love you, and I am not special or unique, so I'm sure that you can find, wherever you are, someone else just like me who can love you, too. Since you probably can't come to my house.
...Please, by all means, feel free to prove me wrong about the "can't come to my house" bit, though, anytime. Even though it's probably impossible.
I'll write again soon.
Your friend, Lumine
