out of the loop here: so Darren had a b'day party and did wonderwall and closing time? Can I just die now because two of my fave song.
people talking about darren's party confuses me. because 1. his birthday was awhile ago. 2. nobody from glee, starkid, or any of his known friends were even there. what the hell
There was a second birthday party last night. It was 90s themed. And Darren played a setlist of classic 90s jams, including "Closing Time" and "Wonderwall." I would KILL for full audio of the set.
The videos were taken down from instagram, but the reblogs are floating around, as are a couple of pictures.
That's all I got.
As for the whos and the whys and what the fucks? That's gonna have to be up to interpretation. Weird as shit though.
Johnny Wujek's Birthday Party at Roller Rink: Rollin' & Playin' In The 90s
If there's anything I love more than awesome parties, it's awesome THEMED parties with my closest friends. So when I heard one of my dear friends, Johnny Wujek, a celebrity stylist (his clients/besties include Katy Perry, Rachel Bilson, and Amber Heard) was having his birthday party I prepared myself by dressing accordingly and of course jamming to some 90s jams in my roller-skates.
It all went down at Glendale's Moonlight Rollerway and it was definitely a memorable experience. The homage to Johnny and the best decade ever made me feel like I was in Saved by the Bell!.. except with cake and Katy Perry.
The epic birthday invites to Johnny's Bday: "Juan Sweet Skate Party." Prepare for the all the awesome 90s R&B costumes. Whoo-hoo!
Here's Katy Perry looking fresh off the cover of a Babysitters Club book cover! Such a great friend, looking the part and gettin' ready and lighting up the birthday cake.
Birthday boy Johnny and Katy getting down to some roller-skate jams. Uh-oh. Looks like they got some moves!
Relaxin' and chillin' with the homies, Tarek and Ferras. We were just discussing the release of our upcoming mixtape.. when I pop my collar you KNOW it's serious.
Lisa D'Amato looking like an explosion of Lisa Frank and getting ready to join the crowd in the rink.
Markus Molinari and I muggin' on you.
And my boys David Lachapelle and Jeremy Scott showin' some love.
And of course, a picture with birthday boy himself. Happy birthday, Johnny! Love you!
My milkshake brings all the girls to the yard.
Jen Atkin is like, "Rem, what's your secret?" And I'm like, "I can teach you, but I'd have to charge, Jen."
Don't remember what we're all cheering about... but I'm sure it was awesome.
Hayden Christensen and Rachel Bilson gettin' ready to roooooolllllllllllllll thru. Aren't they so cute together?! Uh, YEAHH.
Skyler Shaye, Karli Henriquez, and Katy's bro, David Hudson causing a ruckus while looking fab.
Rose McGowan and Co. in full effect channeling 90s mobbin'.
Did The Birthday Boy have fun? By this picture, I'm guessing the answer is yes.. Mission accomplished!
Ending the night with my girl, Shannon Woodward, battling it out, via double-dutch! Get it, show 'em what your workin' with.
Katy and Shannon were wiped from all the double dutch. Time for bed, ladies.
