Senpai you’re looking ugly as hell what’s wrong? Anyways my head has been so empty lately, so here’s what I copy and pasted from the redesign doc I have with @la-carcassa-famiglia​ and yes this is how I list ideas

The formatting fucked up but I’m just going to keep it like this

Honestly really loved his mother

When she died he was devastated and it was the beginning of his descent

Even before that he was kind of a bitch and the mafia environment encouraged that

Never really learned how to be a good and functional person since no one was really trying to point him in that direction

He was the son of the boss and while the Ninth does apparently value kindness, which is why he believes Tsuna can fix the mafia, he never made an effort to change the system himself

And Xanxus is a reflection of this fact

He finds out his dad adopted him the same way but confronts him immediately and the 9th eases his concerns about it and reassures him that he’s still his son whom he loves that and blood relations aren’t any more real than adopted and found family

This is mostly because the trope of “adopted child hating their parents for adopting this” isn’t great, and the rings don’t rely on the vongola bloodline anymore

So that isn’t the catalyst for his breakdown

Going back to how much he cared about his mom, he blames the world for what happened her and wants them to pay

I don’t know if I should get into that but while he finds out the 9th isn’t actually his father, he feels even more alone in the world without his mother

I want him to have this downward cycle and realizing that the 9th doesn’t plan to choose him as the 10th is what finally breaks him

Since he was just a breeding ground of violence and contempt even without the baggage, and Timoteo believes he’ll just lead the Vongola into ruin and further darkness

Which, like, is mostly your fault old man

He really is alone in this world, his father lied and doesn’t see him as his son or worthy at all

Xanxus decided he would take the position by force then, and lash out at the world for what it had done to him

Starting with those who opposed him as leader

He doesn’t as actively treat his group as poorly, but doesn’t really care what happens to them. He’s too far into his own head at this point that all that matters to him is that they win and help him accomplish his goal

After the varia arc is over and done with, he gets time to grow and appreciates them more

Possibly fueled by how they all stood by him even though he was rejected by the rings

And maybe some other implied development when we see him again, since he’s not the focus of the story and is pretty far removed from our main cast

Like Squalo having enough of being treated awfully and storming out, and he ends up feeling that loss more heavily than he expected. This would be him finally realizing that the people in his life have limits and won’t put up with him indefinitely

And he’s still Mr. Bad Attitude, but you can understand the closeness in this group now, and he treats them better than most others

And he does make up with his father, and while things are strained and it will never be a good relationship, it'’s to make sense plot wise as to why he’s still in the vongola in the future despite shoving old man warcrimes in a robot

-Like Skull, Bermuda is an immortal, even before the curse

-He’s still so obsessed with Reborn, but is also curious about Skull. Skull is terrified of him

-He will observe Skull from outside his window. Just staring. Skull makes eye contact and he presses his hand against the glass.

-Reborn goes the route of completely ignoring him. He’ll open his closet and Bermuda will be standing there and he’ll just close it and walk out of his room.

-All the other arco try to ignore him too. Except Colonello who is shoot on sight.

-Bermuda has catboy tendencies and will enter boxes. He will not chase laser pointers he will just stare at you intently, ignoring the light.

-One time Skull screamed because there was a cockroach in his room. Bermuda teleported in, and just put the cockroach in his mouth and bit down. Skull screamed louder.

-If he had an animal like the other arcos, it would either be a dead rat, a normal worm he picked off the sidewalk, or one of those lizards that shoot blood out of their eyes.

-Bermuda can also autohaemorrhage but we don’t talk about that.

-Bermuda will just take clothes he likes. While he was following around Giotto, he saw a man with a funny little top hat and just took it off his head and put it on. His hat now.

-If Skull and Bermuda ever did become friends, they would just bother Kawahira. They camp out under his floorboards and Bermuda shoves his fingers through the cracks and wiggles them. It’s as horrifying as it sounds.

-Bermuda is actually perfectly capable of acting like a functioning member of society, but he only did so when it came to furthering his goal of revenge on Kawahira. Now he has no reason to and have returned to his natural state.

-Bermuda doesn’t like really flavourful foods. Too much going on there.

-He sleeps on the floor because beds are too advanced for him. Will also refuse pillows and blankets.

-The media he’s most up to date with are paintings on cave walls.

-The Vindice are generally cool with him, but yeah, he’s weird even for their standards.

-His birth was a curse from god.

-Craves Reborn’s attention. He’s just so interesting.

-He’s still living out of hatred and spite.

Well I haven’t said no yet

Hayato was practically vibrating with excitement. He had finally secured a date with his precious tenth! It had felt like such a victory when he had so skillfully offered the idea of feeding the ducks together, and the way Tsuna tilted his head with interest was a sure win. He really was fit to be the boss’ right hand man, with how well he knew him.

Well, it was more like time where it was just the two of them doing something together. They weren’t actually dating yet, but he still counted this as a victory. Also, he somewhat owed it to the baseball freak, who suggested the idea to him, and then told Tsuna he couldn’t come. Whatever, it didn’t matter.

All that mattered was that he and Tsuna were here at the lake, together. Alone, but also with a bunch of ducks. Hayato didn’t really have any strong opinions on the water foul. He never spent a lot of time around bodies of water growing up, so they weren’t a constant presence in his life.

Still, he didn’t hate them, so that was enough. There was also a river connecting to the lake, so if he was lucky, maybe he’d spot a real life kappa or some other yokai.

Hayato looked to to his left, intending to ask Tsuna’s thoughts on the matter, only to notice that he had vanished. He was, in fact, already crouched by the water where the ducks were. Hayato watched as Tsuna reached into the bag he had brought, and took out a slice of bread.

“Tenth, wait!” Hayato yelled out on instinct.

Tsuna flinched and the bread slipped slipped out of his fingers. “What?!”

Hayato had to react quickly, the ducks were already converging on the slice. He ran over and jumped in front of it, blocking them with his body.

“You shouldn't feed ducks bread!” Gokudera explained, since he had researched this thoroughly beforehand in order to impress the boss. “It provides very little nutritional value for them.”

“Oh...” Tsuna said, deflating a bit. “Sorry Gokudera-kun, I didn’t know.”

That response was like a knife through Hayato’s chest. He hadn’t meant to make Tsuna feel bad, it was an honest mistake after all! He was about to open his mouth to ceaselessly reassure him, when they were interrupted by a hiss.

They both looked in the direction of the noise. Approaching them was a gaggle of geese with very obvious aggressive body language.

“Eh, you want to start something, you pieces of shit?” Hayato growled, standing protectively in front of the boss. “I’ll kill you for messing with the tenth!”

He had already whipped out his dynamite when he felt a tug on his arm.

“Gokudera-kun, let’s just go.” Tsuna pleaded, looking frantic. “Please don’t blow up a bunch of geese at a public lake.”

His boss’ heart was so big. Moved by this kindness, Hayato conceded and ran after Tsuna as the geese chased after them, hissing and pecking the entire time. This wasn’t over though. He’d be back.

But for right now, all that mattered was spending time with his beloved tenth.

“He’s outside again...” Chikusa mumbled, staring out one of the many holes in the kokuyo building’s walls. “He has flowers.”

Standing on their property was Julie Katou. He was clutching flowers just as described, but he also had chocolate, brightly wrapped boxes, and his fedora had a bowtie on it. This was a man of romance, and the target of his affection was obvious to everyone.

Because behind Julie, was a huge sign, being carried by a very uncomfortable Enma, that read ‘KEN JOSHIMA, WILL YOU GO TO PROM WITH ME?’

“What the fuck?” Ken barked, throwing himself against the wall to peer through the hole as well. “What’s his problem, byon!”

Chikusa stared at him flatly.

“Didn’t you give him chocolates on valentine’s day?”

“I didn’t want them, byon! Chrome made them!”

“You accepted his chocolates on white day.”

“Why would I say no to free food?”

“You gave him roses.”

“I was digging up the flower bed! Some of them just happened to land on him, byon.”

This was going nowhere. While he wouldn’t openly show it, Chikusa was baffled by how dense Ken could be to how he had accidentally courted Julie. Just because there were no romantic intentions didn’t mean it didn’t come across as such.

“You kissed him.” Chikusa said, his last ditch attempt to spell out why this happened.

“I DID NOT!” Ken roared, stomping his feet in irritation. “I just wanted the pocky in his mouth! It wasn’t a kiss!”

That’s it. Chikusa was done. He had hit his limit of Ken Joshima stubbornness for the day. He pressed his fingers against his temples and let out a heavy sigh, fighting the urge to just walk away.

“Tell him to leave, then.” Chikusa almost demanded. “He’s making the nervous one play 'Sakura Addiction’ on his recorder.”

Luckily, Ken perked up at the suggestion, like it just occurred to him that he could do that. Good. If this went on any longer, Chikusa was going to kill them. No hyperbole, he would stab them with poison needles just to make the painful squeaking of shitty recorder playing end.

“Leave it to me, byon!” Ken exclaimed as he was already running towards the door. “I’ll make sure he definitely gets the message and never returns here ever again, byon.”

Well, this was definitely going to backfire.

Against his better judgement, Chikusa peered through the hole again There he watched Ken, in what was probably cheetah channel, barrel over Enma and sending the poor boy rolling down the hill with an alarmed shout. This was all to get to Julie, who he tackled against a tree and stared intently at. In what looked exactly like kabedon.

Chikusa could see the hearts in Julie’s eyes, and that’s when he finally gave up. This whole situation was hopeless and was never going to end.

God, he needed a shower.
