"Hi!" The greeting sounded breathless as Sophie finally caught sight of an employee in the pet shop. She seemed sheepish as she approached the young-looking man, already toting an armful of items that she was visibly struggling to keep her hold on. Perhaps a basket was a good idea, but she hadn't had the foresight when she first entered. "Could I ask you something?" A feeding dish fell from the pile of things in her grasp, and she glanced down at it forlornly before giving up and carefully setting everything down on a nearby surface to free her arms for the time being. Kneeling, she grabbed the bowl, also putting it down, then she turned back to the boy she had assaulted for help, looking briefly apologetic for her delay in getting to the point. She really didn't mean to waste his time.
"I'm adopting a dog, soon! I have her picked out and everything, I just need to get it all sorted out... but she's a Chihuahua, a standard, she's almost a year old... and I'm stocking up on everything she needs, but I'm not sure what I'm forgetting?" Turning to the things she had just set down, she sifted through them, listing items off as she did so, "Food and water dishes, a collar, a leash, some toys... should I be getting her a bed if she'll probably sleep with me? And are carrying crates necessary? I guess they are..." Eyes widening in realization, she physically smacked her own forehead while gasping sharply. "Food! Of course I need to actually get her food... what is good for her size and age range? And am I a totally bad dog parent if I want to buy some puppy clothes too?"
Blinking a few times, it occurred to Sophie that she had just bombarded a poor soul with a million questions without allowing him a word in edgewise, and she appeared embarrassed now as she burst into quiet laughter and relocated her hand to cover her mouth. "Sorry, sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm just really excited, I haven't had a pet in years..."
