Louis at thr 98.5 krz interview
Louis answers fans’ questions on 98.5 WKRZ:
1. On his favourite lyric:
That’s a tough question. I don’t wanna spoil any of the new lyrics you’ve not heard but I like the way it lands on ‘All of those voices / All of those choices’ on #BiggerThanMe. (x)
2. On choosing Iceland for the Bigger Than Me music video:
Amazing. Really really beautiful place. It was important for the kinda size of the look of the first single, it’s got this big soaring chorus. I wanted to have something with scale and size and Iceland, everywhere you look, it’s an incredible looking place … so it was a bit of a no brainer to do it there. (x)(x)
3. On AFHF 2022:
It was actually during lockdown, it was an idea I had for a while that I wanted to put on a free gig and just say thank you to the incredible support that I had from the fans over the years, it felt appropriate. (x) It was such a success, the first one, that we were like 'maybe we could do this annually' and we just did the last one in, uh, Spain - who just told me that? Yeah, nice one! Nice one! I was racking me brain even though I know. (x)
4. On rumors involving him:
There’s just been so many over the years. There’s so much. You can’t really pay attention to any of that otherwise it will get too much but yeah, it is what it is. I’ve always been used to it, I suppose. (x)
5. On the most fun part of his career:
Other than the music? I mean it’s mostly music. I’d say the travelling. It’s tiring but it’s amazing getting to see different places that I’d never thought as a young lad I’d get to go to so many different countries, cities. (x)
6. On advice for going into the music industry:
I would say just trust your gut. Try and be really honest with yourself and think about who you want to be be, musically. Trust your gut. There’s a lot of different opinions but actually no one knows you better than yourself. (x) Pretty profound, eh? (x)
7. On what the songs on Faith in the Future mean:
I actually don't want to talk about what these songs are about cause I want people to draw their own conclusions because once we finish writing a song, it’s kind of open to interpretation, so I rather people come to their conclusions on their own. (x)
8. On his proudest accomplishment:
I’d say a combination of this tour I’ve just done and this album. (x)
9. On which song would play when he walks into a room:
I’ve got no idea! … Maybe Teddy Picker from Arctic Monkeys? (x) (x)
I’ve got no idea. No idea! It’s almost like what would be a boxing walk out. Maybe Teddy Picker - Arctic Monkeys? (x)
10. On writing Faith in the Future:
I’d say the first album was probably more challenging. I suppose the first challenge that I had making this record was I imagined that I would have had full tour under my belt before I started writing this record. Obviously that didn’t happen. (x) So at first that was challenging. But actually it gave me more time to be able to have a bit more clarity in my head, time on my own, to see exactly what I wanted. (x) It just took me a bit of working out on the first record in terms of exactly who I am as an artist but I think this second record is a much better advert for me as an artist, I’d say so. (x)
11. On what makes him laugh:
When I’m in America, I watch a lot of that ‘Ridiculousness’. (x) I like watching people fail it’s pretty funny as a comedy. (x)
12. On one song he’s excited to perform live:
Silver Tongues - that’s one song in particular that I’m really excited to perform. (x) (x)
Probably Silver Tongues. The minute we finished writing it it just felt — I mean most of this album has been written with the live show in mind — but that one in particular. (x)

@985wkrz long time listener first time tweeter for #memorialdayweekend but can I dedicate this amazing @adamlevine song to my special girlfriend Taylor? PLEASE, PLEASE PLAY it, it would mean so much we had a huge fight the other night and well I can’t stay mad at her that long and this is kind of like our make up tune. [You know this would be easier if the twitter radio stations had a hashtag for dedications...just saying].
Anyway, it would really, really mean a lot I know she’ll be listening all night!
