The other is Detective Miller who is trying to track down the whereabouts of a missing heiress. Of course these two events end up being interconnected but how they are is part of the fun.

Irréelle's life revolves around keeping Miss Vesper happy. It's an impossible task and Vesper is a horrible and abusive person. Every task undertaken is met with criticism and the threat of death.
