Struggling to get back into painting after a busy holiday season, but that light in the room during our mini vacation was enough to give me a kick start. Between work and appointments, something’s gotta give. I decided to skip the winter classes. Being so behind on assignments was not fun; it was stressful. I didn’t get to experiment with things I want to try, and there was no joy in the end. I don’t want to feel like painting is a chore. I’m Marie Kondo-ing my schedule, in a way, making space for—and keeping—activities that bring me joy. [No, I haven’t read the book or seen the new show.] I finished one book this year so far and onto my next, @michelleobama’s Becoming. Can I do 24 in 2019? I’ve mailed birthday cards 📬 to faraway friends and I hope to keep this up through the year. We still have to take down and stow away the holiday decorations, but aside from that, the to-dos are not yet up to my neck on the 8th day of the year. Sorry to miss some emails and messages during the holidays. I/We just needed a break and it was a good one for me/us. ♥️ . . #eatplaytravelexplore #sunshinecoastbc #vacation #watercolorpainting #99hobbies #explorebc (at Pender Harbour, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsZy5tqBJX0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ipteanflfvnp
