Porsche 99X 🤯 ______________________________________ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [9/5/19] Porsche is ready to pour it all into electric and one way they are showing that off is through Formula-e! The rising new race series, which I got to experience first hand in July, is pretty exciting with the cars zooming by sounding like a Jet mixed with a UFO! If you haven’t noticed, Porsche uses 9 for most of their top tier cars: the 911, 918, 919… But this Formula-e car is using two nines “99x” to apparently emphasize how much they are investing into this venture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏁 @Allcarnews Spec sheet: Formula-e cars all make 335HP but it is limited in different ways. In regular race mode the cars get 268HP. But in special sectioned “attack mode,” all the cars get 316HP and that 335HP is in a special “Fan Boost” mode which is allocated to drivers who get the most fan boost votes from fans. 0-60 is pretty quick in just 2.8sec with a 174MPH TopSpeed. 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even better, Porsche is saying their Formula-e car will be a big expensive testing bed for their future high performance powertrains. Getting back to the 99x, its design is basically identical to every other Formula-e racer but Porsche fitted their red, black and white racing livery.
