"Now you have touched the women, you have struck a rock." Happy National Women's Day to all my fellow womxn. This day commemorates the 1956 women's march in South Africa, when ~20 000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest the Apartheid laws which prevented freedom of movement for people of colour. People had to carry around a passbook which determined which areas they were allowed to enter, work and live.
