I really needed a day like today--good company, good coffee, and good art at a local cafe! ^^

@knockingout23​, @9outofpen​ and I drove to our high school town and just enjoyed a quiet drawing day together at an artist-friendly cafe as we’re planning our next upcoming projects! They’re great artists, if you have time please check out their art blogs!

You make so many beautiful art pieces, it blows me away! How long does it take you to complete a typical drawing?

Thank you! My recent posts usually take 1 to 2 hours per piece, depending on complexity(lines, colour, adjustments etc.). Sometimes it goes up to 4 hrs if I’m not feeling it that day, haha. My paintings from last year average between 4 to 8hrs... or more.

WIP Wednesday

While looking up Gamayun today, I found a close cousin in Slavic mythology called the Alkonost!

Similar to sirens, these creatures are half-bird, half women with docile beauty and project hypnotizing melodies that transfix anyone who listens to disregard the world around them. They draw you in with their calming, ethereal beauty and enchanting songs. They lay their eggs on the sea-shore and then move them to the ocean before they hatch. In one version, she can adjust the weather to her liking. There is a calm before a storm seven days before the eggs hatch.

Here you are, the finished color page 1 of 2 that I started at Christmas! lol I have another sketch planned for #fanartfriday so maybe page 2 of 2 will be next week.

Also, I’ll be at C2E2 this weekend helping out my school! I usually only go to ACEN, so it’s my first time at this convention. Wish me luck! ><

Another #snowbaz doodle for Fanart Friday! Didn’t get to post it on the day, but I did get to wind down after work while coloring, so I’d say it did its job. Maybe I’ll develop the background later if I’m not too lazy. I did add the yellow glow from the fireplace :)
