what if someone from ciaban’s old life did find her? what would she do?

She’d panic, probably! Ciaban holds both a great deal of fear and shame about that period of time in her life. I won’t get into why she feels shame, but she siphoned enough dirty money from a mob to have a permanent dead-or-alive bounty on her, all so she’d never have to work again after taking on a new identity. I think anyone would be terrified if they found themselves facing the consequences of those actions.

More IC though, she’d first be hit by a wave of vertigo, nausea, and disorientation, unable to do anything but Freeze at first. If it didn’t seem immediate threat to her life though, she’d likely start to Fawn in an attempt to get out of the situation. She wouldn’t do well if it was pushed to a Fight. it would be sloppy, with her relying on instinct rather than technique... something that her caste doesn’t exactly lend an advantage to.

Overall, as it currently stands, I don’t think Ciaban’s making it out of that situation unless she has someone with her to actively support or protect her.

Ciaban, are you handy in the kitchen? Sure, pastries from a cafe are nice, but is there anything you feel tastes best when you make it yourself? Or do you prefer to leave the cooking to the pros?

…. Baking, unfortunately, is not my forte. While I enjoy the intimacy of cooking for oneself, I find that baking requires a certain touch I do not possess. Especially so for pastries. If you are looking for a challenge requiring endless senses of both patience and haste, may I suggest lamination? 

Though, I do suppose there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about bread you’ve made yourself, isn’t there?

😍 Does your muse act different once they start to like someone?

Aquila — It depends if she knows you irl or online-only!

For online friends, she’ll send you pictures of her hive or her lunch. As she gets more confident, she’ll PM you stuff that’s tied her offline life. What she just ordered online, her lusus, her outfit, stuff line that. That said, ONLY who are her closest online friends get to see even see her face. (Spoiler alert, that’s currently nobody.)

If she knows you irl and she likes you, she’ll relax. Not a lot! Just a little. She won’t stammer, or pause while she tries to think of the Exact Appropriate Word For This Situation So You Don’t Hate Her™— depending on how safe she feels around you, she’ll feel less obligated to mask too! Which means more long silent pauses and straightforward answers.

Ciaban — If Cia likes you, instead of leaving things to fate, and allowing herself to bump into you by chance, she’ll start to visit you, rather than just places you tend to visit. Along with that, she’s less likely to cut conversations short, or eager to politely duck out the moment the conversation turns to something vulnerable or personal.

Like Aquila, she won’t feel pressure to engage in small talk and simply sit with you. (Unlike Aquila though, she prefers to be physically close to you during comfortable silences.)

Remlie — While Remlie is a little shit, when she starts to like someone (or at least starts to trust them,) she’s not as heavy handed with playing The Fool and will engage you in Proper Intellectual Discussion™.

If she ever gets short with you, or she’s visibly distressed, you’ve got it made ;) Counterintuitive, but it takes a lot of trust for her to drop the act.

Overall, they actually have a similar theme! — They get all get less vigilante about keeping up their façades ;0

I relax -utd–rs— th°nk a p°cn°c, but w°th-ut f–d. Usually next t- water… I th°nk I learned that fr-m my lusus. I mean, water °s just l-vely. Wad°ng is l-vely, babbl°ng streams are l-vely, m°st -n a st°ll lake….. Seadwellers are s- lucky, aren’t they?

But–-But I’m sure that’s pr-bably n-t what y-u’re l–k°ng f-r th-ugh! I’m s-rry. I enj-y…. read°ng as well. °t’s rather hard f-r s-me-ne t- sn–p -n y-u read°ng, yes?

What's Ciaban's luses? What's her job?

My lusus was a very cur°-us h–fbeast…. I d-n’t think I’ve met an-ther p-ny that f-nd -f water. Always °n the lag–n… she was qu°et, t–. But very l-w ma°ntenance, wh°ch °s always a bless°ng.

I d-n’t have a j-b at the m-ment. I managed t- c-me °nt- s-me wealth after I qu°t at my last place, and I’m very c-mf-rtable w°th the m-nthly pens°-n I’ve g°ven myself. L°v°ng °n the c-untrys°de and rent free d-es w-nders f-r -ne’s pers-nal budget. °f y-u mean my last j-b th-ugh…. I was a secretary, techn°cally. That’s all y-u need t- kn-w.

((OOC Note: Ciaban’s lusus was a kelpie! It actually drowned quite a few of her little friends, but she was none the wiser— it had already found another grub to adopt by the time she would had the chance to find out. She just figured that her friends stopped liking her whenever she fought with them ; v ; So she’s learned to be very polite and to avoid stepping on toes.))

I bel°eve the hem-spectrum °s…. s-meth°ng eas°ly abused.

I w°ll grant that I used t- bel°eve th-se ab-ve my stat°-n were perhaps… g°fted? W°th w°sd-m and strengths that made them m-re su°ted t-wards leadersh°p. I was prev°-usly…. na°ve, we’ll say.

But I refuse t- g°ve any-ne subserv°ence n-w. I’ll aff-rd h°ghbl–ds the same p-l°teness I d- any-ne else, but… N- f-ll-w°ng anyb-dy. I th°nk I am d-ne with all-w°ng myself t- be bl°nd.

How ticklish are your trolls and how would they react to someone trying to tickle them? (Stranger, friend or quad?) ((Feel free to answer just the faves of yours if all are too many! ♥))

Leelan Trinet

Precious, very ticklish, very okay with tickling. Feel free to tickle them, unless Ketspa is around and unfamiliar with you. In which case keep your hands a respectful distance at all times.

Marone Barolo

Not ticklish at all. She doesn’t get upset if you tickle her, but does gently grab your hands and removes them and just.

“Hmmmm. Let’s not.”

Ciaban Nyneve

Ticklish, especially on her neck and shoulders, but extremely uncomfortable with anyone tickling her. Will politely ask anyone that isn’t a moirail (or very close matesprit,) to stop; depending on how close they are, refusal to comply may be met with violence.

Remlie Briash

Not ticklish at all, anywhere, but pretends to be. Feel free to tickle her! You’ll both have a ball and a grand tickle fight.

(Don’t be surprised if you lose your wallet and can’t find it for a week though.)

Caelim Hephom

Extremely ticklish, and will break the nose of anyone says they’ll try to tickle him. Do not burst his personal space bubble.

Aquila Chilam

Isn’t ticklish, wishes that she was because because she’s afraid it’ll be weird when she doesn’t react. How she would react is a moot point because she never leaves her hive.

Ketspa Valdri

Ticklish on her sides and her neck by her gills, but don’t do it. Everyone that’s close enough to her to get away with it knows already it’s a bad idea unless you’re underwater. She loses her breath from laughing very quickly, and doesn’t react well to not having oxygen. Very precise flailing ensues.
