Sonic is Freedom. Shadow is Self-determination. Silver is Hope. Amy is Love.

Not exclusively. Amy loves the freedom of adventure, Sonic has unshakeable hope, Shadow's motivated by love, Silver's driven by willpower to shape himself and his world.

But that's what they embody.

I love the look of confusion on Silver's face when Sonic just stops to sniff himself here. And then Silver goes back to growling at Infinite.

Silver is selfless, honorable and hopeful. He's often mocked for it. He's been called crazy, disappointing, even disgusting for being so idealistic.

But his unwavering optimism is what got him through Crisis City without breaking or giving into despair like everyone around him.

Sonic has never canonically cried.

He's the only hedgehog who has not cried in canon. Shadow has shed a tear. Amy has sobbed. Silver has broken down.

The closest Sonic's come is in Scrapnik Island, but those weren't his tears. That was Mecha Sonic crying through Sonic's eyes.

Silver just straight up growls at Eggman.

During their first fight, Sonic can be sent through hurtling helpless into space from Silver's psychokinesis. Much later, Silver catches Sonic with his psychokinesis as he falls helplessly from space. They float in the starry sky as friends now, feeling safe together.

Silver loves being helpful to others.

Being able to support others makes him happy. It gives him purpose. He's always worried over others. He wants to be there for people.

As Sonic Channel puts it, "He wanted to use this power not for himself, but to help others like this."

Sonic seems to remember, he's just super chill about it.
