In The Fall
In the fall, you'll have seen some better days, And your years in mere seconds will have passed, Powerlessly plummeting while in a daze, Getting ready to be a fragment of the past.
In the fall, you'll recall the folks you know, Ones you've lied to, hurt, loved and have wronged, It's already an atrocious way to go, And these thoughts will have this grisly fall prolonged.
In the fall, you'll resent yourself completely, Be disgusted with the weakling you've become, Be ashamed of yourself, whilst falling fleetly, Self-abasing for having chosen to succumb.
In the fall, you'll be seeing yourself clearer, Your existence you'll begin to summarize, Every window will have turned into a mirror, Broadcasting your pathetic self-demise.
In the fall, you will wish that you were standing, You'll regret the awful choice you have made, You will wish that you were still, and not descending, Sadly, no one will be coming to your aid.
In the fall, you will wish that you were dreaming, And awoke right before the colors fade, But this nightmare you will only exit screaming, Plunging down, while wishing you had stayed.
You're not falling, but you're on the ledge, Thinking of all the people that you'll miss, Still refusing to give unlife the edge, Reconsidering your trip to the abyss.
Looking down, your heartbeat starts to quicken, Your mind starts racing in the moment's heat, You see yourself, and you're panic-stricken, Reluctantly staring down defeat.
You are thinking that your life is over, But yourself you ought to have forgiven, For you may still find your four-leaf clover, So enjoy the life you have been given.
Despairing over former times is futile, Don't succumb to this poetic seizure, Mishaps of the past may have been brutal, But there's still plenty present at your leisure.
It's a brave thing that you are attempting, You must be thinking that you've lost it all, And this escape might seem quite tempting, But just know that you'll regret the fall.
