Dakota paused from flipping through her social feed on her Rotom phone when she heard the confusion in her boyfriend’s tone. Looking less than amused she watched as a pair of fans explained to the bewildered gym leader that this photo just wasn’t perfect yet. This one being the 9th attempt they had made.
Sighing quietly, Dakota looked back at her phone trying her best to wait with patience. She was used to this sort of thing when they were out and about. Gordie was terrible at saying no to his fans requests. Sometimes to a troublesome degree in Dakota’s opinion. Her frown wasn’t as much due to jealousy as it was before of worry. She knew he had been pushing himself and part of her always worried about this. Too many times it felt as though her beloved rock user was always trying to prove himself. To be the best at everything, to please everyone.
It was downright troublesome.
But it also wasn’t her place to tell him how he should handle work related affairs. In her mind she lost that right when she stopped being affiliated with the League.
Dakota’s body flinched when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. Looking up with her phone to her chest from the surprise she saw Gordie looking at her apologetically behind those shades of his.
“Sorry that took longer than I thought it would. You ok?” He asked petting the shiny and yellow head of Dakota’s Galvantula affectionately.
“Hmm? O-Oh yeah I’m fine. It’s fine. I can imagine how frazzled they were getting that photo JUSSSSTTT right.” She said with a smile as she got to her feet before turning back to him. “Not everyone gets to spend all their time with you after all. Gotta have something that captures your amazingness just right, yeah?” She grinned leaning her hand against his cheek.
Gordie snorted slightly before leaning his face back against her hand. Giving her a chance to admire him as they stood content in their joint silence. Yeah he was always worth the wait.
