I will literally always trust A Clockwork Reader no matter what. She has never been wrong, not once! Even with books that I didn't LOVE as much as she loves, I have never read a bad book that she wholeheartedly endorsed. Every single book that she has praised, I have at least enjoyed.
And I am now 6 chapters into A Lady for a Duke and this has me blushing and kicking my feet. This chemistry! This flirtation! This romance is off the charts already. Once again, she was not wrong. She never has been.
Ok I know I don’t booklr much anymore but everyone should watch A Clockwork Reader’s latest video where she reads 5 popular books and then come back here and freak out with me over how she pretty much conclusively proves that A Court of Thorn and Roses is just Howl’s Moving Castle fanfiction 🙃 🙃 🙃
if you are having a bad day malina stans, watch this video. if you aren’t a malina stan but want to see a different perspective without rereading the trilogy, watch this vid. in conclusion…watch this video and her whole youtube channel
this video is my favorite thing ever and she didn’t even read ruin and rising the last time she read the books so she got to see the ending for herself while loving malina 🥺<3
Ever since they mentioned it in the last BOOKMARKED, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the fact that...
Jake Ryan
Captain Marvel
And Percy Jackson
Were ALL in a movie TOGETHER?? And to SAVE OWLS??
So forkin wild. Mind blown
Fave Five: Booktube Channels
Books And Quills - Sanne does a variety of bookish and non-book related videos and the variety is what keeps me watching.
Jen Campbell - Jen Campbell is one booktuber that speaks about books outside of YA. Not only does she talk about books but, like Sanne, she gives insight into publishing, which is very interesting.
A Clockwork Reader - Hannah has the most calming voice! Her videos feature a lot of variety and while she has a YA focus, she makes an effort to read widely and communicates that to her viewers.
A Booktube Book - Farah posts a great variety of videos and her reviews and wrap-ups are detailed and well-explained.
Ariel Bisset - Like the others, I follow Ariel because she posts videos that are not simply TBRs and wrap-ups.
I like the idea of book recs based on fandoms, and personality types.
I'm a very simple creature.
A Clockwork Reader told me to read The Night Circus, so I read The Night Circus. And it shook me. She told me to read This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet, so I read This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet. And they shook me. She told me that she put out a reading journal, so I bought her reading journal.
I was never a reader. I never enjoyed it growing up and I actually find it very difficult to process words on a page. Every once in a while, I got into reading grooves and tackled a few standard classics, but I have never been so determined to actually devour books as I am when A Clockwork Reader tells me to. She's the reason I sought out audiobooks. She's the reason I have an actual reading list right now. She's the reason I'm starting a goodreads.
I'm a very simple creature. I find a person whose opinions I relate to and respect, and then build my personal growth on the foundation they lay.
