Malina learned very young how to manage difficult people.
One of the reasons Malina is so patient with Kuzco is because she already spent years dealing with strong personalities before meeting him. Whether it was bulling kids, demanding villagers, stubborn classmates, or teachers (or even her own relatives) who expected too much from her, she became emotionally mature much earlier than most people her age.
Not because she wanted to, but because she realized very quickly that somebody had to stay calm when everyone else was acting ridiculous. That’s why she almost never reacts dramatically. She’s not emotionless, she’s just practiced at keeping herself composed.
But the downside is that people unintentionally rely on her too much. Everyone assumes: “Malina will solve it”, “Malina will organize things”, “Malina will explain everything”, “Malina will stay calm”. And sometimes she gets exhausted from constantly being ‘the responsible one’.
I think that there are nights where she just collapses onto her bed and stares at the ceiling in complete silence because her energy just gone.
Also Malina worries about the future more than she admits. She seems composed most of the time, but internally she overthinks EVERYTHING.
She’s the type of person who appears stable externally while secretly carrying tons of pressure internally. Actually, this is one of the reasons Kuzco changes her life more than she expected. Because he brings spontaneity into her carefully controlled world. He reminds her that life doesn’t always have to be perfectly planned. Sometimes it can just be messy, joyful and ridiculous. 💗
