Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts: A Rough Comparison.
BNW: "Look at the lady doing backflips! Aren't Black Widows just so cool!"
Thuderbolts: "Um, about that. The Red Room literally kidnapped, abused and exploited young girls to make them weapons. Being a Black Widow actually sucks"
BNW: "Lady spies are so cool!"
Thunderbolts: "Yeah um.... here's a lady spy exploiting and murdering people in the name of protecting her country"
BNW: "Don't worry kids, the good guys always win!"
Thunderbolts: "Not to be gloomy but in the real world that doesn't happen. The system often favors the bad guys and allows them to get away with stuff. Also, it often punishes those trying to stop them"
BNW: "Ta-Da happy ending!"
Thunderbolts: "Happy endings don't exist, but maybe we can all try and do good in the worst of circumstances so everyone's lives suck less"
I think Ima call them the Reasonably Enraged Trio (Although I might change this later tbh).
Anyway, sorry for the low quality of the image, I'll provide the text and an extra image under the cut (Some of the comparisons includes references to Journey to the West (though really just for Nezha and Red Son) and like 3 head-cannons but the rest is basically all from the show and also true)

Supreme Kai TORIYAMA & Supreme Kai Apprentice TOYOTARO
Toyotaro's writing = Zamasu's actions
He believes he's doing the right thing, but he's actually causing problems.
Zamasu was a lower Kai who was chosen by Gowasu (The Supreme Kai) to be his successor.
Toyotaro was a mangaka for DBH who was chosen by Toriyama (The Creator of DB) to be his successor.
Zamasu practices making tea for Gowasu (Toyotaro makes draft pages to show Toriyama) who gives some corrections, because he decided not to make the tea (the manga) himself & nonchalantly teaches his apprentice, believing he will naturally improve.
Zamasu (Toyotaro) is temporarily promoted as Supreme Kai (writer for DBS manga) alongside Gowasu (Toyotaro) to let him learn the responsibility he would need to be prepared for if he takes over.
Zamasu (Toyotaro) is given a bit too much leeway (creative freedom) and is permitted to do things his way while the laxed Gowasu (Toriyama) has little involvement.
Zamasu (Toyotaro) creates a reality in an alternate timeline (the manga version of DBS) based off of his views of justice (his interpretation of Toriyama's notes) & his own warped ideas (misinterpretations of the characters).
Zamasu as "Goku Black" (the way Toyotaro writes Goku) is only Goku in appearance, not in how he acts.
Gowasu rarely corrected Zamasu's actions, but corrects his tea making (Toriyama rarely correcting Toyotaro's writing, but corrects his art more often) which would eventually lead to the detriment of an alternate Universe (DB fans split about the writing of the DBS manga).
The blame partially falls back on Gowasu because of his lack of involvement (the manga credits Toriyama as the author, although he does bare minimum writing for the manga).
Zamasu's actions caused the timeline to be erased (Toyotaro's writing caused many fans to stop following the manga). But, in another reality, Gowasu has decided to become more involved in his universe in hopes to better it (Toriyama is more involved in Dragon Ball again; he's working closely with the anime staff & writing most of the dialogue as well as creating concept art & many other details for the DBS films).
The ending of the DBS Future Trunks arc isn't that bad when I look at it as "a cautionary tale." Hopefully we'll get a better outcome than the Future Trunks timeline (the DBS manga continuity) & we follow the Present timeline (the DBS anime continuity).
This post by @anonwardblog got me (and some others in a Discord server I’m in) thinkin’- what if Barley actually got CHUBBIER at the end of the movie? You know, during the epilogue. If the pics in the post that I linked didn’t convince you, then look at this chonk-
Barley probably ate a lot of cheese puffs lately. We still love him (and his tumby) tho. Here’s a pic of Barley pre-epilogue, for comparison. (Credits to @tremendouslyzealousskeleton for this image)
Okay I’m done talking about a fictional 19-year-old elf and his tummy, bYE!
Tbh I hate that one because I feel like, of all the remakes, that’s the one that RESENTS its source material.
Also it’s just really a shit movie. Like it was so focused on trying to fix the first one it forgot to tell a good story.
Original Belle was a likable daydreamer who read fairy tales because she enjoyed them. The town thought she was kind of weird but no one hated her, they just wrote her off as being “a beauty but a funny girl.” That was really all we needed. Making the villagers more antagonistic served no purpose. Elaborating on Belle’s dead mom contributed nothing. Having a teleporting book was just plain stupid. Making Belle the inventor wasn’t an improvement either.
I think my biggest problems, though, were with the Beast. And I can point to 2 scenes that killed this movie for me.
The first is the scene where Maurice is in the dungeon and Belle trades herself for him. The animated one paced that so beautifully. So much emotion conveyed purely through the beast’s expression; anger, guilt, confusion, like he legitimately didn’t know how to deal with any of this. Right off you see the potential for a redeemable character.
CGI beast doesn’t have HALF that range.
And speaking of that scene, let’s talk about that reveal. “Come into the light” The build up, the lighting, the pay off as that hulking monster looks down at the camera, this is the first really good look we get at this thing.
Live action remake just kinda has him squinting into a candle.
The camera work in the live action version is absolutely abysmal. So is the pacing. They could not have picked a blander way to shoot this scene.
Scene number two. Beast gives Belle a library. In the original this scene is the culmination of Beast deciding that he wants to give Belle a gift. Because he likes her. That’s it. He likes her and he wants to do something for her. And he’s so genuinely excited to see her reaction and so pleased when she actually likes it. it’s such a sweet moment and does so much for his character.
Live action Beast sneers at Belle’s choice of reading and then gives her the library bc he wants to show off. To give him a sliver of credit he does soften when he sees how in awe she is but he still basically just humble brags about the kind of books he owns. Gee…..thanks. How benevolent of you to allow use of your library to someone who lives with you.
That’s a big distinction for me. Original Beast GIVES Belle the library. Gives her a part of his home to call her own. A space where she now has dominion, HER space. He doesn’t just permit her the use of something that is unambiguously his.
There are a million more things I can pick out that bothered me. I’m not trying to write a full on review so I’ll just leave it at the two big things. Also the bullshit they pulled with LeFou being gay and the utter garbage attempt at representation that was, but that could be an entire essay on its own.
