having my semi-regular “how does one talk about their fics online” crisis

but, like, ?????? i was never big into fanfic before about a year ago, and then i was on twitter, specifically writer twitter, and the norm there was a) talk about your original projects, and b) don’t, actually, keep them mostly secret
genuinely asking for advice from other creators and/or my hypothetical audience. idk how to balance spoilers, do i post snippets? do you want to hear the minutiae of random choices about lines of dialogue? do i talk about my plans for the sequel?
again, i’ve been steeped in this culture of Not Sharing for so long that it feels wrong to give away huge plot details, but how am i supposed to have any kind of conversation or like, entice anyone that way?
