Been trying to formulate a more complex way to say this but your posts touch on things that have bothered me deeply for many years from when I was much younger and I appreciate your bravery to speak up about them and applaud your ability to put it into words accurately. I've struggled with trying to describe the issues with forced-wholesome-soft-community-thats-more-like-a-friend-group-and-they-dont-like-me type of thinking, but I think you phrase things well and the people misinterpreting you are either doing so in bad faith or just really really don't wanna think about it too hard for one reason or another. I'm really sorry things have gotten so out of hand. I think that any even slightly tolerable society, let alone a healthy ideal one, *must* have room in it for people like you to thrive, and everyone telling you otherwise isn't going to be capable of spearheading one if they keep digging their heels in and insisting everyone conforms or dissapears

I mean, the person who did that most egregiously seems to be having a particularly difficult time right now, so I don't necessarily expect calm, non-paranoid reading under those circumstances. That doesn't make it hurt any less, especially considering that the words they put in my mouth while exposing my blog address precipitated harassment from a handful of people in their orbit. It also doesn't make the reading or the words they put in my mouth any less inaccurate or removed from what I actually think.

What I've been trying to say this entire time is not "group cohesion is hard, so everyone should just become isolated Western protagonists forever." It's that social diversity is real, and a world that only has room for people who thrive under high-demand, low-boundary, highly communal conditions is not actually inclusive. I am skeptical of futures that expect everyone to become the same kind of person, especially because I've repeatedly had people frame the things that help me feel healthy as distractions or moral failings. The rock will exist no matter what, and so I insist on the tune I get to hum while rolling it.

Also, thank you. Genuinely. I have been feeling pretty alien and flattened today, so hearing that this resonates with someone else helps.
