Suddenly, Iroha's boat gets rammed by the Whulk from The New Dinosaurs: An Alternative Evolution.
I'm steering as well as I can but the missiles keep hitting me!
*The S.S. Koizumi is trying to dodge as many missile barrages as Iroha's boat is dishing out, and while Mahiru, David, Emma and Tsumugi are firing back as well as they can but some shots are getting through to the S.S. Koizumi*
*Emma is firing back with her explosive paintball gun* How is Iroha piloting and steering this boat?
Tsumugi: Its got to Sannoji's mind control. He's more or less piloting her body and he can drive a boat so...
Keep firing back! We can't give up!
Erm guys...hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm not sure if I can cope with anymore missile attacks, if another barrage hits me...I might...stop being a boat.
W-What?! That's not good...
Tsumugi: Nijiue is going for another attack!
Iroha please...stop this...snap out of it...Mikado doesn't control you...please stop attacking us!
*Emma's words are not getting through to Brainwashed Iroha as she gets ready for another attack...*
*However just before she fires, something slams into her boat and causes Iroha to stagger back and not be able to fire*
W-What?! Who attacked the boat just now?
Tsumugi: G-GUYS LOOK!
*David and Emma look to where Tsumugi is pointing and they see a amazing sight*
*A massive whale like creature though anyone who knows about how evolution works can tell this is no whale, its a Pliosaur that seems to have evolved into a similar niche to the Blue Whale, this is the Whulk from a speculative evolution project which explores how our world would look if the asteroid didn't hit Earth*
Is that a whale? How did that get in here?
Don't know but its better its attacking Iroha's ship then me!
*Brainwashed Iroha doesn't seem to be very pleased and as the ship is rocking from the Whulk's attack, she starts pulling and pressing buttons which causes the missiles bound for the S.S. Koizumi to start attacking the Whulk. This causes some damage but the beast doesn't let up*
*And then to make matters worse the larger boat the other Smilists are on is approaching Iroha's boat with full intentions of ramming into it*
Get ready everyone! As soon as we ram into that boat, everyone get onboard and stop the person piloting it!
Erm Akane....what's that attacking the hostile ship?
Oh...that's not good...
???: Shit, I'm going too fast to avoid hitting that creature, this is gonna crash into both that AND the boat!
*Just then a massive crashing noise can be heard as the main boat rams into Iroha's boat and more or less squishes it against the Whulk. The Whulk lets out a bellow of pain as a massive gash goes into the creature's body, causing it to bleed massively, and then it starts shaking erratically as the glitchy material from Mikado's body starts entering the creature's body, its both making pained cries and glitchy gaggles*
Okay good news we hit that other boat and we seem to be fine.
Bad news I think that other ship has taken too much damage and is sinking!
Where did that other boat come from?
T-That's not the main concern Chiem! Iroha's boat is starting to sink and I don't know what will happen if she enters that water from how weird its looking, someone needs to save and restrain her!
And that's not even telling what she would do now the boat is sinking.
//Okay so now the arc has ended I wanted to talk about a few things. Normally I do like a massive analysis but interval arcs aren't getting that.
//That being said there is stuff to talk about so under the cut we go.
//The point of Interval Arcs is they are meant to be much shorter then normal arcs. A regular Arc has 1 Main story, 2 sideplots I come up with, and 3-4 Anon generated sideplots, depending on the arc in question. By contrast the Interval arcs are supposed to have one singular main story, a sneak peak at one of the upcoming side stories and that's it.
//Now the main focus of this arc was supposed to be introducing The New Future cast to the Voidship. Thing is there's not a lot I can do because when Freeze terminated the first verison of The New Future, it was in the middle of its 2nd arc and anyone who knows enough about askblogs know that that's barely enough time to know the characters. As such for the most part the TNF cast are similar to what their canon counterparts are since that's all I can draw upon since the 1st arc is basically everyone getting out of the NWPM and coming to terms and the 2nd arc was supposed to be TNF's version of Future Side, so in terms of what I can play around with there isn't a lot besides the shock of learning your universe is rebooted. That being said the arc should be each of the main groups (Class 77-B, the Class 78 Survivors, Future Foundation and the villains) coming to terms with what's happened, however everyone is going to be in so much shock that is why the Remembrance Ceremony is happening as its meant to help everyone come to realize yes this is happening and you need to learn to form memories.
//And then a certain Ultimate Wizard came along and does what he always does, make it difficult.
//Mikado was a massive plot tumour and I admit it. Especially as while his motive IS related to the TNF cast, I do have to conclude it took away from the main point of the arc, now in terms of how destructive he is, I think that was done well because people are getting sick of how Mikado is constantly the main threat so having a Mikado do something very very bad, and Review Anon to put her essence down and go "enough is enough", means I can move away from Mikado causing problems all the time and give other characters some time in the bad spotlight. Especially since I could have had more TNF characters be involved in taking Mikado down and it would be related. Really the only TNF characters who bothered are TNF Aoi and Tenten. Kebi despite being the other TNF OC only had a funny role and that's it. Shouldn't he have done something? He's basically like Kirby so he could have beaten up Mikado easily. Really I think the Mikado situation could have worked IF we included more TNF characters in beating that silly clown wizard's arse up more.
//This is especially because I did not plan for Mikado to get this bad. Really my plan was have the intro, do some prep for the Remembrance ceremony, the Hero sneak peak, have some insight into the TNF cast then Remembrance Ceremony. But Mikado yeeted the train and threw into a black hole in terms of derailment.
//That being said now the TNF cast are on the Voidship, we can see them having fun and forming memories as they come to terms of how the reboot of their universe is, and in terms of expanding upon Voidship worldbuilding I say that was done very well.
//We also got some Tetro cameos as the Spice Trio and Ihsusta made a appearance in this arc, just as friendly reminders that Black Rabbit is coming and there will be build up to it.
//Now let's address the other issue; The Phantom.
//First thing's first; The Phantom is an antagonist; point and black. They don't like Review Anon, they oppose everything she does and clearly have some beef with her. Thing is I said the Phantom is a antagonist NOT a villain. I define antagonist as someone who opposes what the protagonists does, which considering Review Anon is a protagonist, does fit the bill. But they aren't evil so I can't count them as a villain. The idea is that there's supposed to be this balancing act between the morality of the Phantom and Review Anon so you are left unsure who's right and who's wrong....and I feel the scales tipped too much in Review Anon's favour.
//Review Anon just to recap, had a massively traumatic PTSD episode brought on by her hydrophobia which should be proof that no her fear isn't a joke, its a serious and inhibiting condition, wasn't told everything about the Saint Seiya Universe, saw Aliza, someone Review Anon DOES care about get almost killed, and then banned what she saw as an harmful universe. Yes she did it at the worst possible time with a rampaging Mega Dragonite and Mikado not down, but to most people you can understand her motives, and that once things calmed down, it took Mikako talking to her, lore-dumping Saint Seiya and deconstructing her arguments that made Review Anon realize she was in the wrong.
//As mad as people got with RA at the time, you could understand her motives and realize there was no malice behind it; its just RA getting tunnel vision, a already established flaw of her's and reckless about something. She also doubled down even when she realized the ban was unjust and it took a loredump to change her mind.
//The Phantom by contrast; actively endangered people by trying to stop Shuichi from dealing with the Mega Dragonite, got pissy with the Anons as they believed the Anons would automatically side with them, have the most banal excuses on the block and when Mikako went No Contact, the Phantom didn't even consider the reasons why Mikako did and thought RA must have poisoned Mikako's mind...something contradicted 2 seconds later when Mikako rejoins the party and RA expresses concern for Mikako and says if she needs to take a break she can.
//I did make the Phantom more antagonistic here because I felt in the previous arcs they showed up in, they felt too heroic, so I wanted to show that no the Phantom is not perfect, but I felt I succeeded a little TOO well as now everyone more or less hates the Phantom now. Which given they're supposed to be morally grey is a big oops. Yes they did apologize when they realized people can die on the Voidship and did help Shuichi with taking down the Mega Dragonite, but this feels hollow.
//So in future I feel I need to show more of The Phantom's good traits while also highlighting that no, Review Anon isn't a good person. Not by a long shot.
//However as much as there were issues where it felt like Void Juice Plotline on steroids; decent writing but piss poor timing, there is good from it. For one it shows that I can pump out a plotline quite quickly when I want to which is a good sign for me wanting to keep up the pace and also a proof that for the longer interval arcs, because yeah some with a single plotline can take a while, I can pull it off so the proof of concept is there.
//And it seems people are very divided on this arc. Some say it sucks, others say it rocks. And as for my personal opinion, I don't know, its too early to call, I think once I have more arcs under my belt, I can properly look at this one.
//And that concludes my look into this so what's next?
//Firstly, I need a break. Secondly, I need to make sprites I need for the next arc and its a LOTTTT, not only is Review Anon getting some new sprites, but I got about 6 characters to make sprites for next arc. Why do I need 6 new character sprites? Well you need to wait and see.
//But to welt the appetite before then I decided I will do some OOC Spoilers. All the cool kids have them and this askblog is no exception. I don't know how many I'll do but once I done them all, I will post them here and you can guess and speculate even more.
Despite how...messy today is, I feel like we are having a lot of fun.
I won't deny that things will be chaotic here...but that's nature of the Voidship.
Plus we all know Freeze is too busy picking Pikmin with the V3 cast to get on with the reboot so we have plenty of time to have happy memories before we cease to exist.
So thank you for tuning into this interval arc and boy was it a wild ride.
What is UP with my time keeping? I said this wouldn't take long and it lasts a month.
Let's be real we all know who's to blame for that. Mikado and him being a pathetic manchild.
But despite how...out of hand this all got I hope everyone enjoyed it, its a good proof of concept.
Oh yeah its a good proof of concept that we can have moderately long interval arcs.
Which we are gonna need to require once Black Rabbit passes us as the Tetroling interval arcs are gonna be long.
Unforunately Princess Ise, we come with various issues of our own and as such would require more arcs to sort them out.
It wouldn't be the case if we weren't written to be torture material but sadly that's the cards we were dealt with and so we need to work on burning those cards in a incinerator.
By the way Ise...I notice you look different why is that?
Oh this? Creeper found some extra Blowback sprite edits of me and sent them over to RA so I have more sprites to play with.
Seeing how I'm one of the main characters of this blog, I more then deserve some extra sprites, don't you think?
But yes I hope you enjoy this interval arc and there will be a bit of a break as I got some stuff to do before the next major arc kicks in but then we can start with the first of the Vision arcs.
....Shouldn't someone show up by now to complain?
Oh yes thanks for reminding me Sou. Due to recent events involving Project Eden's Garden, I don't think its appropriate for me to have the gag where Damon moans and you guys laugh so for now that gag has been pulled in respect of what's happened.
Jokes have their time and place and for now, I think its best we leave this joke be.
*Shows The New Future Hajime and co the footage of the Flood incident, which includes the Smile Cultists vs Mikado, Aliza and the Cloths vs Mikado, the Whulk-Abomination battle and the Rogue Mega Dragonite battle*
All of THIS over a off comment about Pennywise that isn't even canon?
Review Anon was completely right to execute him the way he was in that hindsight.
And to think he almost ruined our Ceremony as well...
Should we even be mad? He got his just desserts and went the way he did.
Y-Yeah I think...we should just enjoy the party. And hope that's not a prescient of what's to come.
Its the Voidship Kazuichi of course its gonna happen again.
