It was almost 2:30 and you were behind the counter making lattes for you and Charlie when Bela finally decided to grace you with her presence. You had assumed she wasn’t coming and started working without her.
“It’s about goddamn time.” You snapped as you handed Charlie her latte.
“What? I’m here, aren’t I?” she said nonchalantly as she slid into the booth. “So this is where you work? What, Starbucks wouldn’t hire you?”
“Jesus, Bela! Do you have any people skills whatsoever?” Charlie hissed as she slammed down her drink.
Bela got right in Charlie's face and the two of them began to argue so loudly that other people started to stare at them.
“What the hell?” Meg mouthed at you. You just shook your head.
You held your hands up between them angrily. “All right, that’s enough! Can we just get to work? The sooner we get this done, the sooner you’ll never have to see us again, Bela.”
“That works for me,” Bela said with a sigh, opening up her notebook.
After working for a bit, you had come to some conclusions about Bela Talbot: 1) you couldn’t stand her, 2) she was dumb as a box of rocks, and 3) she clearly had undiagnosed ADHD, because she couldn’t pay attention or focus on anything for more than a few minutes.
“Dammit, Bela! Would you stop looking at your phone and listen to what I’m saying?” Charlie snapped for at least the fourth time.
Bela closed her book and began to pack up. “I have to go. I have...a thing” she said lamely. “See you two later.” She sashayed out the door, drawing everyone’s eyes to her as she left.
“I hate her so much, Y/N,” Charlie told you, her eyes very serious.
You nodded in agreement, your face a mask of frustration. “How the hell did she get into law school?”
“I have no idea how she got into college, period.” Charlie commented, rolling her eyes.
You had a meeting with your adviser that afternoon, and then you were heading over to Sam's place for a late dinner. You needed to shake this dark mood Bela had put you in before you saw Sam.
You didn't want him to think you couldn't handle the prickly Omega. You were going to make this project work if it killed you.
Your advisor's office was down the hall from Sam's. You had just finished your meeting and were leaving when you saw Bela leave Sam's office, buttoning her shirt and looking very pleased with herself.
Your first inclination was to punch Bela in her smug face, and then barge into Sam's office and demand to know just what the FUCK was going on. But you couldn't do that, of course. Sam was supposed to be your professor, nothing more.
If you ran into his office screaming like a possessive Omega, everyone would know your secret. But you WOULD find out what had just happened, one way or another
You were late getting to Sam’s, and he already had dinner laid out. When he leaned in and kissed you, you barely gave him a peck before pulling away. Sam raised an eyebrow but said nothing. You were sure he could feel the anger rolling off you in waves.
"How was your day?" He asked you.
"Pretty crappy, how about yours?" You tried to keep your tone neutral.
"Interesting." He told you, running his hands through his hair with a sigh.
"How so?"
"You won't believe what happened to me, I still can't." Sam looked very annoyed, not turned on in the slightest.
"Tell me." You urged him softly.
"One of my students had requested a meeting. And right in the middle of it, she started taking her clothes off, and told me she'd fuck me if I gave her an A." Sam's jaw got tight at the memory.
"You don't say?" You commented neutrally, your face expressionless.
"Why don't you seem surprised?" He asked as he leaned in and tried to catch your eye. You refused to look at him.
"What did you do when Bela took off her clothes, Sam?" You asked quietly, looking him in the eyes, finally.
"I told her to get out of my office and if she ever did anything like that again, I would fail her AND report her."
"I saw her coming out of your office. I had a meeting with my adviser today. She was buttoning her shirt and looking so damn smug. I wanted to smack her in her stupid, conceited face!" You didn't try to hide the anger in your voice.
Sam grinned at you. "Jealous, Omega?"
"Maybe. I don't share, Sam. Especially not with entitled Omega sluts like Bela Talbot. She is the reason for my crappy day." You wrinkled your nose in distaste.
"What did she do to you?" Sam asked curiously.
"You know Charlie and I got stuck with her in our group. Thanks for that, by the way." You stuck your tongue out at him. It was childish, but you didn't care.
Sam held up his hands beseechingly. "I'm sorry! I didn't know she was like this.”
"She is lazy, easily distracted, and she and Charlie are at each others throats. She has no discernible people skills, and we pretty much hate each other. Our group is a train wreck." You closed your eyes, as though laying it out had exhausted you.
"Wow. Tell me what you really think, Y/N." Sam commented dryly.
The warm lips that were suddenly sliding down your neck made you gasp. "Maybe I can make it up to you?" Sam whispered, his hands buried in your hair.
"You are welcome to try." You said with a low chuckle. "But I don't know if that is even possible. She is that awful."
"Sounds like I've got my work cut out for me." Sam commented, smiling that sexy dimpled smile you loved. "There is only one Omega in my class I want, and it definitely isn't Bela Talbot." He said as he scooped you up in his arms and carried up the stairs to his bedroom.
He laid you gently on the bed, the long length of his body covering yours as he kissed thoroughly, pulling a moan from your lips.
Both of you were impatient. You wanted to remind Sam that he was yours, and Sam wanted to reassure you he was. When he couldn't get his shirt off fast enough, you ripped it free, scattering buttons everywhere.
You were like an animal, nipping and scratching at whatever piece of Sam's skin you could reach. When his warm mouth latched onto your nipple you almost catapulted off the bed.
"Condom!" You managed to grunt as Sam's mouth came off with an audible 'pop'.
"On your knees Omega." He said roughly, the Alpha in his voice causing you to scramble to obey.
"Now there is a beautiful sight." He commented as he rubbed his cock through your folds, causing you to whimper. He slid into you, grabbing your hair and pulling your head back as he slammed into you hard over and over like he knew you needed.
"Don't doubt me again, Y/N. I'm yours. I don't cheat." He said through gritted teeth as he began to falter. "I'm close."
"Sam!" You wailed as you came hard, clenching around him and pushing him over the edge. He came with a roar and collapsed on top of you, pinning you to the bed.
"You're heavy." You muttered as your face was squashed into the mattress. Sam got up to dispose of the condom and get you a towel. He handed it to you and slid back into bed, putting his arms around you. "Better?"
"Much." You said with a grin. "Now I just have to figure out how I am supposed to not kill Bela for going after my man."
"Relax, Y/N. She's just lazy and doesn't want to do the work. I shut her down. She's harmless." Sam said as he stifled a yawn.
I turned to him, incredulous. "She’s not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer. My gut tells me she slept and cheated her way through school. I've met Omegas like her before, Sam. Bela Talbot is anything but harmless."

Master List Part 1 (all Parts are linked)
Your eyes flew to the door in a panic, hoping that Meg was mistaken, but already knowing she wasn’t.
Sure enough, Sam was barreling through the door, fists clenched, jaw tight with anger, his mouth set in a hard line. You turn to Meg and whisper quickly, “Can you go distract Kelly while I talk to him?”
Meg nods quickly. “I’m on it.” She says before heading to the back to find Kelly. There aren’t any customers at the moment and you pray Sam won’t make a scene. You take a deep breath and walk up to the counter.
Since you have no idea what to say to him, you say the first thing that pops into your head. “Can I get you something?”
“A fucking explanation might be nice,” He snaps at you, and you flinch.
“Look, Sam….” You begin.
“No Y/N, YOU look! I can’t believe you slept with me and then snuck out without a word. That was pretty low.“
Your face flushed red with embarrassment. “I’m sorry. I panicked, okay? I really can’t talk about this now. I’m gonna get in trouble if my manager sees you. You need to go.”
“What time do you get off work?” He asks immediately. When you hesitate he leans in close and says in a low voice, “We can talk about this now, or we can talk about it later, but we are talking about this, Omega.”
“Four. I get off at four.” You finally admit, and he nods. “I’ll be back later then.”
“Fine! Now, will you please just go?” You hiss.
“I’ll see you later, Omega. Count on it.” Sam tells you before he turns and stalks out of the coffee shop.
You wipe the same section of the counter for a good five minutes, lost in your thoughts, sick at the thought of what you’d done.
“Is the coast clear?” Meg asked, coming up from the back.
“Yep. He left.” You said shortly.
“That’s some angry cleaning happening right there.” She observed as you attacked a particularly stubborn spot.
“It’s only a temporary reprieve. He’s coming back at four when I’m off so we can talk.” You said morosely.
“What are you going to say, Y/N?” She asked.
“I don’t have the slightest idea, Meg. I’m just making this up as I go.”
You were completely preoccupied during the rest of your shift, your eyes straying to the clock every few minutes. You knew your manager was watching you closely, so you tried to focus on your work and not think about Sam and this situation you had gotten yourself into.
“You didn’t ask for my opinion, but I’m gonna give it to you anyway,” Meghan told you as the two of you stocked the shelves for the next shift.
You couldn’t help but grin, despite how tired you were. “Of course you are. I wouldn’t expect any less.”
Pausing before she spoke to make sure the coast was clear, she leaned her elbows on the counter and winked at you. “I say go for it.”
“Seriously?” You said in surprise. “He’s my professor, Meg. If anyone found out…..”
“So make sure no one finds out. I saw the way he was looking at you. I’d give my right arm to have an Alpha as hot as him look at me like that, professor or not. You need to live a little, girlfriend.”
“If only it were that easy.” You said with a sigh.
“From where I’m sitting, it is,” Meg told you. “Hey, it’s almost time for you to leave. Tall, dark and Alpha should be back any minute.”
The door opened, and a group of teenagers came in, laughing and pushing each other. A gust of wind blew in behind them along with a tantalizing aroma that smelled better than any cup of coffee. It was Sam.
He didn't approach this time, just stood by the door watching you untie your apron, not smiling but not looking furious like he did earlier. Meg touched your shoulder as you passed by her to clock out and grab your jacket. "Think about what I said." She whispered out of the side of her mouth, shooting a pointed look Sam’s way.
"Yeah, yeah." You grumbled.
After you grabbed your stuff, you headed to the door, anxious to get the confrontation over and done with. Your stomach was twisted with anxiety, and you still weren’t sure of what you wanted to say. The more you had thought about it, the more confused you became. On one hand, you had never been so attracted to anyone as you were to Sam. And despite the way you had snuck out this morning, how he made you feel last night was amazing.
But on the other hand, he was your professor, and you had worked too hard for too long to allow biology and hormones to ruin all your plans. There was no more money, so you needed to graduate after this semester or you were screwed. He was just too much of a distraction. This had all been so much easier when he was just the hot Alpha in your line every morning.
You marched up to him and before he could say anything you spoke. “I’m sorry. Sneaking out was a dick move and I shouldn’t have done it. I don’t blame you for being mad. I was scared because I let things go too far with you. My judgment is severely impaired where you are concerned.”
Sam looked pleased with your admission. “How about I buy you some dinner? You look like you could use something to eat. I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have stormed into the shop like some Alpha in rut. When I woke up, and you were gone...”
You pushed the door open and began walking down the street. “This place is crawling with students. What if someone sees us? How would you explain why you're out with one of your students? Have you really thought this through, Sam?”
“Where is your car?” He asked, avoiding your question altogether.
“It’s still at the bar.” You admitted.
“Let me at least drive you there to pick it up.” He gestured down a side street. “My car is just down here. We can talk more on the way.”
You had to admire his tenacity. “You just don’t give up, do you?” You said with a ghost of a smile on your lips.
“Why do you think I’m such a good lawyer?”
The scent of him was rather overwhelming in the confines of the vehicle, and you fought to stay focused. Watching his large hands grip the steering wheel brought back memories of his hands on your body, and you felt yourself getting warm.
“Are you even listening?” He finally asked at one point.
“Um.....what?” You whispered, feeling flustered.
"I already told you, I don’t really like coffee. The first time I came in I was only buying it because I was up all night working on a summation and I could barely keep my eyes open. But then I saw you, and I felt like I’d been punched in the gut. As soon as I scented you, I knew it. So I kept coming back, just to see you.”
“You knew what?” You whispered.
But Sam kept talking, as though you hadn’t spoken. “And when I walked into class, I saw you right away, and I thought, this is fate. It has to be. Why else would she be here?”
You turned in your seat to look at him, giving him your undivided attention. “What did you know, Sam? Tell me!”
“That you are mine, Y/N. I know you feel it too. Tell me I’m wrong.” He challenged you. “We need to figure out how to make this work because I’m in love with you, and that isn’t going to change.”
