Hi guys! Yes, I am still here, I haven’t died! I’ve been recovering from major surgery. I am still writing, albeit slowly. Thanks for sticking with me! Anyhoo, I read a ton of fics, and I like to recap the year with some of my favorites. I know this is a little early, but I am going back to work Wed, so I wanted to get this out there. I’ll be posting 12 fics, 1 for each month. Fics are below the cut
(1) The Video by @impala-dreamer (Sam X Reader) Some late-night alone time with her computer leads Y/N to discover an extremely sexy video. As she watches through a lustful haze, it becomes clear that she may just know the subject of the film. This is classic Becca. Funny, well-written, and hot as hell!
(2) Abandonment Issues by @moonlitskinwalker (Alpha Sam X Omega Reader ) Sam’s your best friend at school, and you may have a small crush on him. He is not a typical Alpha, kind, caring, funny… the kind of man people dream of ending up with, right? I love Miami’s stories. She doesn’t post a ton ‘cause she’s a busy chick, but when she does, I know I am getting an original, beautifully written story. Another plus, it is A/B/O, which I live for.
(3) Prove It by @waywardnerd67 (Dean X Reader) The old fake dating cliche turned on its head. Dean and the reader are posing as a couple for a case. When they get caught, they have to prove they are really together. I really enjoyed this one. I couldn’t wait to see how it turned out, and the smut was on point!
(4) Hiding in Plain Sight by @winchesterprincessbride (Alpha werewolf Sam X Omega Reader) The small town of Lebanon, Kansas has a secret. A pack of werewolves lives among the humans, and pack Alpha Dean Winchester and his brother Sam kept things under control so the humans were none the wiser. One night on a full moon, Y/N’s car breaks down and she is attacked and bitten by a mysterious wolf. Waking up in a house full of strangers, she is told that she is turning into a werewolf, and she must leave her old life behind. Will she threaten all that Sam and Dean have worked so hard to protect? It’s my list, so I always include something of mine. Yeah, it’s shameless self-promotion, but too bad!
(5) House of the Rising Sun by @kittenofdoomage (Sam X Dean X Reader) The reader is a detective eager to prove herself, is assigned her first undercover case working at a bar owned by Sam and Dean Winchester, the sons of the wealthy Winchester Dynasty. Corporate billionaires involved in more shady dealings that can be counted, Y/N’s investigating a case of corporate fraud and embezzlement, but what she uncovers is a much shadier world of murder and deception that might not let her out alive. When I first read this, I was blown away. It’s an AU, and Sam and Dean are NOT nice guys in this. There is some kinky shit in here, but there is also a highly original story and amazing writing that we have come to expect from Rhi.
(6) Bed of Roses by @crispychrissy (Dean X Reader) The reader finds some strange abnormalities with some medical records, and when she continues to look into it after her boss tells her not to, things take a turn for the worse. I enjoyed the slow burn of this, and I am a sucker for mob stories! Chrissy never fails to deliver!
(7) The Joy of 90s Pop by @fictionalabyss (Dean X Reader) Minor threats by an annoyed Dean. 90’s pop hits. Soulmates linked by music. I just love the effortless way she just nails these characters. Every. Damn. Time. And don’t even get me started on her titles........
(8) Tell Him by @sofreddie The reader has a secret and Sam decides she needs to own up to it. Shannon is one of my favorite writers. Her stories grab you and they don’t let go. I’ve been a fan since day one.
(9) I’d Rather Be Blind by @atc74 (Dean X Reader) The reader witnesses her boyfriend, Dean, fitting in perfectly with another hunter. She doesn’t know what she’d do without him and mutters to herself. The only problem is someone is always listening. Ang is one of the most prolific writers I know. She consistently turns out such quality work, I just don’t know how she does it!
(10) A Week in Boston (Chris Evans X Reader) by @blacktithe7 It was your first vacation in years. One week all by yourself in the big city of Boston. No rules. No expectations. Just a list of places to go and things you wanted to see. That all changed when you run into a certain blue-eyed Boston boy who turned your world upside down. Is it really possible to fall in love with someone in just one week? Or is that kind of love just a fairytale? Every time I see a new chapter has posted, I do a little squeak of happiness.
(11) The Mud On Your Boots by @thoughtslikeaminefield Until Dean shows up in Hibbing unexpectedly, Donna had been enduring a bit of a dry spell. Then, just as unexpectedly, they find something in each other and fall deeper and deeper into happiness and comfort - and, yes, love. Ah yes, Dean and Donna, Deonna, one of my favorite ships of all time! This series does such a realistic job of letting the relationship build in a way that makes sense.
(12) Help Me Understand by @pinknerdpanda This one made me sad. I felt bad for the reader, and for Dean. He loves Lisa, and he loves the reader, and he’s sorry, but they are both miserable. Manda is usually my go-to girl for Castiel fics (no one writes Cas like her!) but I love everything she writes.
A/N: Thanks for bearing with me, guys. Sorry, it took so long to get this out. I am recovering from major surgery and I am just starting to feel better.

Alpha! Werewolf Sam Winchester, Alpha! Werewolf Dean Winchester, Jody Mills, Beta! Dr. Castiel Novak, reader
“A cop?” You repeat dumbly, looking over at Sam, who says nothing.
“Yeah,” Dean affirms, “and then later that day Jody got a phone call from some P.I. who was poking around.”
“Did you not think people would eventually ask questions?” you demanded of Dean. “I had a life before I met you people! I was supposed to be starting a new job in Fresno. I have parents, you know!”
The realization hits you like a ton of bricks, and you drop into an empty chair. “Parents who at this very moment think I am probably dead.” You’d been so completely wrapped up in all the changes you were going through that the thought of contacting them had completely slipped your mind. “I need to call my parents right now! I need a phone!” you yell to no one in particular.
“That’s not a good idea, Y/N,” Dean said tersely, grabbing your arm in his powerful grip.
Yanking your arm from his grasp, you glared up at him. “Why the hell not?”
“Are you ready to explain to your parents what you’ve become?” Sam asked quietly without looking at you.
The idea of telling your straightlaced, churchgoing, Republican mother that you were now a werewolf was so ludicrous it was almost funny. She would have you locked up in a psych ward so fast your head would spin. You sighed in annoyance, “I see your point. So what do we do then?”
Sam and Dean talked quietly with Jody, not answering you until you were finally tired of being ignored. “What are we going to do? This is my life we are talking about!” you demanded and they stopped talking and stared at you.
“This isn’t just about you anymore!” Dean snaps, his eyes hard. “This is about all of us. We took you in, trusted you with our secrets. If anyone finds out about you, it will eventually lead back to the pack. I can’t allow that to happen.”
“So what am I supposed to do, disappear forever?” you spit back at him.
“You’ve shifted once, Y/N. You aren’t ready to go back to your life as though nothing has happened.” Sam tells you. “There’s still so much you don’t know.” His eyes meet yours, and you see nothing but concern there.
Dean stands up finally, the discussion apparently over. “We need to get her out of here until things cool down. We can’t risk that cop or someone else recognizing her.”
“So what are you going to do?” Jody asks curiously.
“We are going to move her to Bobby’s hunting cabin for a while.” Dean declares.
“You’re going to do what?” you demand angrily.
Dean turns and exchanges a long look with his brother. They seem to have a conversation without saying a word. Sam scratches the back of his neck uncomfortably. “I’m not sure if that’s the best idea, Dean.”
“I’d do it, but my rut’s due soon, and I don’t want to leave Anna alone when she’s so close to having the pup,” he argues. “And besides, you are the only other person I trust.”
“Do I have any say in the matter?” you ask sarcastically.
Jody leans over had puts a hand on your arm. “Dean’s trying to do what’s best for you and the pack, honey. He knows what he’s doing. Let him do his job.”
Dean runs a tired hand down his face. “At least you know Sam. It’s either him or I send you with a stranger. I can’t spare Cas, not when Anna is so close to her time.“
You jump up and slam your hands down on the table angrily, making Jody jump but Sam and Dean didn’t even flinch. “I don’t have a problem with Sam, I have a problem with decisions being made about my life by other people without my consent.”
Dean was out of his spot and in your face in the blink of an eye. You had barely seen him move. “Welcome to pack life, sweetheart! I am the Alpha. I do what is best for my people, and right now, that includes you. So you will do what you are told or so help me god…..”
Sam inserted himself between you and Dean, pushing you behind him as he stood toe to toe with his brother and Alpha. “Enough. She gets it. We’ll go today.”
Dean nodded and jerked his head at Jody, and she got up and the two of them left without a word. You wondered how much harder her job was now that she had to deal with werewolves in her town.
“Your brother can be a real dick, you know that?” you quip in the ensuing silence after their departure.
“Be packed and ready to go in an hour.” Sam snaps as he walks away.

You were still angry as you threw your bag in the trunk and stomped to the passenger’s side. You understood that the pack’s secret needed to be kept, but you chafed at the idea that someone else got to make the important decisions about your life. You didn’t even know how long you would be here.
“Are you going to sulk the whole time?” Sam’s deep voice cut through the quiet, shocking you out of your own head.
“What? I am NOT sulking. I’m thinking,” you quickly responded.
“About?”
“About whether I’m cut out for this whole pack thing,” you admitted, giving Sam a sideways glance. He said nothing, but the telltale tightening of his jaw told you he wanted to. You sighed in annoyance. “Is there something you want to say, Sam?”
He turned to face you and opened his mouth to speak, and thought better of it. He pulled the car to a stop in front of a snug cabin deep in the woods. “Get your bag and come inside,” he told you firmly before exiting the car.
You gave the cabin an unimpressed glance as you pulled your bag from the trunk and followed Sam inside. The interior of the cabin was faded and worn and had never seen a woman’s touch. Flopping down on the shabby couch, you coughed as a cloud of dust swirled around your head.
Sam was completely ignoring you, busying himself with unloading supplies into the sagging cabinets. The silence was making you uncomfortable, so you felt the need to fill it. “Do you need help?”
“So now you want to help?” Sam said dubiously.
Something in his tone irritated you. Standing up quickly, you marched over to the tiny kitchen and stood next to Sam. “What is your problem?” you snapped angrily.
He whirled to face you, eyes stormy. “Your attitude, for one. Ever since you were attacked, we have gone out of our way to help you, putting the pack's safety at risk. But everything is about you. If it had been any other pack, they would have put you down so they didn’t have to deal with you. But Dean doesn’t operate that way.”
“If I’m so much trouble, why didn’t you just do it?” you demanded.
Sam reached out, his huge hand grabbing your wrist. “Dean would have, but I talked him out of it.”
“Why did you even bother?” you said bitterly.
His hand moved from your wrist and gently caressed your cheek as he tucked a stray lock of hair behind your ear. “I’m still asking myself the same thing,” he said softly as he pushed away from you. “Your room is over there. I’ll see you in the morning.”
And with that, Sam turned his back on you, walked into the other bedroom and closed the door.
__________________________
The tension was palpable between the two of you as you danced around each other within the small confines of the cabin in the days that followed. The more you tried to stay out of his way the more he was tripping over you. Sam was very short-tempered and snapped at pretty much everything you said or did.
“We’re getting low on supplies. I’m gonna make a run into town today.” Sam told you one morning after you’d drunk the last of the coffee.
“Can I come?” you asked hopefully, already knowing the answer.
“No. It’s better if you stay here. We wouldn’t want anyone to recognize you.” he answered immediately.
“Fine.”
Sam returned from town a few hours later and walked up to the cabin, arms full of grocery bags. He opened the door and stepped inside, and as soon as the scent of Omega hit him, his body involuntary took a deep breath and he and dropped both of the bags at his feet. He heard you moan in pain, and he bolted towards your room a second later.
The smell was so tantalizing the Alpha in him immediately began to take over. His pupils dilated, the color eclipsed by black. Right before he completely lost control of his human side, he realized three things: 1) You had presented as an Omega, 2) You were having your first heat, and 3) Dean was going to be so pissed if he couldn’t resist you.
Twelve years ago you had broken Dean Winchester’s heart and left Kansas for college and a career in fashion design in New York and never looked back. Now your best friend Tru was getting married, and you were headed back to Lawrence to be her maid of honor. Tru’s fiancee Benny was one of Dean’s best friends, so you planned on making nice for your friend’s sake. After all, twelve years is a long time, and he probably had forgotten all about you, right?
Part 1 My Master List
I stomp out of the restaurant and park myself on an empty bench before I let the tears flow. Damn him! I thought after years of living in New York I had a much thicker skin, but one barbed remark from Dean Winchester and it was like I’d never left.
"You okay?" Jo asks as she sits down next to me. I just nod slightly, not trusting myself to speak. "Ignore Dean. He's just being a dick. He and Lisa are having problems again, so he's nasty to pretty much everyone these days."
I wipe my eyes and look over at her curiously. "Lisa?"
Jo's eyes lit up with delight that she was the one who got to share this juicy piece of gossip with me. “Tru hasn’t told you? He’s dating Lisa Braeden. They’re engaged."
My mouth dropped open in shock. "Loose Legs Lisa? Dean is engaged to the biggest slut in the history of Lawrence High? You have got to be kidding! She was passed around the football team more than the ball. And it’s not like Dean couldn’t have any girl he wanted.”
“But he wanted you, and you left,” Jo said as she looked at me intently. “He’s not the same guy anymore. I don’t think he ever got over it. Now how about we go back in and show him that old Loose Legs can’t compete with a hot fashion designer from New York?" She gazed at me expectantly.
I stand up and throw my shoulders back, her pep talk having the desired effect. "You’re right. There is no way I will let Dean-freaking Winchester throw me off my game. He has no idea who he’s messing with.”
“That’s the spirit!” Jo says with a grin as you take a deep breath and head back into the restaurant.
Everyone is talking when I march up to Dean and grab his arm, yanking him towards the back of the restaurant without a word. "Hey! What the fuck? Get off!” he demands as I turn to our friends.
“Back in a sec, guys! Dean and I need to have a quick chat.” When I am far enough away from everyone, I drop his arm like he’s on fire. A second later, I am in his face hissing at him like a pissed off cat.
“Listen to me, Dean. We’re stuck with each other for the duration of the wedding. We both love Benny and Tru, so we are going to be civil to each other or so help me god you will regret the day I ever came back to town. Are we clear?”
He stands with his arms crossed, those green eyes shooting daggers at me. He says nothing for a long moment, just holds my gaze until I finally look away. “Yeah, we’re clear,” he grumbles in a deep, gravelly baritone that sends chills down my spine.
He brushes past me, stopping so close that I could feel his warm breath on my neck as he whispers, "I already regret that you’re back in town, sweetheart.” Turning his back on me, he stalks out of the restaurant, raising a hand in farewell to Benny.
I stand frozen in shock for a moment. He is clearly still angry about what happened all those years ago. I thought things might be awkward, but I wasn't expecting this.
_____________________
Most of my teenage "firsts" I experienced with Dean. He was my first kiss, my first boyfriend, and I'd lost my virginity to him. I'd loved him, but at the time we'd wanted different things.
College wasn't in the cards for him but he was an incredible mechanic so he had a job waiting for him at Mr. Singer's garage. I'd always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, so when I got the scholarship to FIT in New York I felt like I really had a chance to make my dreams come true.
I'd asked Dean to come with me, but he'd refused. Lawrence would always be home for him, he'd told me. We drifted apart after that, and when I left, he didn't even come to say goodbye.
I walked back to the table and everyone looked at me expectantly. "You okay, Cher?" Benny asked.
I smiled at him, "I live in New York, Benny. That was nothing. I deal with worse stuff on the subway.”
‐---------------------------------
Tru had to finish out the workweek, and then she was done until after her honeymoon. "I'm so sorry to leave you like this!" she protested as she filled her travel mug with coffee.
"Really, Tru! I am fine keeping myself entertained while you are at work. I've missed this town, and it will give me a chance to visit some old friends." I shooed her away with my hands. "Go! You're going to be late!"
When she left, I leisurely ate breakfast and planned my day. I decided to go for a walk downtown. I had forgotten how pretty the center of town was. They had really spruced it up with potted plants and pretty awnings and benches to sit and relax on.
Gone was the used book store that had supported my voracious reading habit. I had pretty much read everything of interest in the Lawrence library by the time I was twelve. And in its place was a funky little boutique that looked fun, so I headed inside.
A bell tinkled over the door as I entered, and I heard a voice from the back say, "be right with you." I browsed the tables artfully displayed with jewelry.
I looked up when a man bumped into me, shirt half untucked, with lipstick smeared on his face and a hickey on his neck. He gave me a sly grin and bolted for the door. What the hell?
"Can I help you?" a voice said from behind me and my entire body tensed. No. Oh hell No. I whirled around, a fake smile plastered on my face. There stood Lisa Braeden< tapping her foot impatiently, Great.
"Hey, Lisa. Great shop you have here," I said awkwardly.
Her eyes narrowed. "Slumming it back in Lawrence, I see. Is there something you're interested in or can I get back to work? I'm the manager here and I'm very busy."
I should have just kept my mouth shut, but I couldn't help myself. Lisa had always rubbed me the wrong way, and the fact she was engaged to Dean just made it worse.
I rolled my eyes at her disdainfully. "Yeah, I saw just how 'busy' you were," I commented, using air quotes. It's nice to see some things in Lawrence haven't changed."
"You think just because you live in New York you're better than me? You always were a stuck up little bitch," Lisa practically snarled.
"And you were always a vicious, cheating, slut,” I practically yelled back. Thank god the store was empty! I turned to leave. "Oh, congrats on the engagement, by the way. You and Dean deserve each other. Hopefully, he doesn't find out how you keep 'busy'."
"Are you threatening me?"
I laughed humorlessly, "You aren't even worth the effort." I spun on my heel and left the store without looking back.
I was sitting in the terminal at J.F.K waiting for my flight to board when my cell rang. I grinned when I saw who it was. “Hey, bride-to-be!” I chirped happily.
“Are you on your way yet?” My best friend Trudy, who everyone called Tru, asked anxiously.
“Not yet. The flight should start boarding any minute. I can’t wait to see you! It’s been too long,” I remarked as I eyed the dress bag on the seat next to me.
“You have it, right?”
“No, Tru. I am flying out to your wedding and I forgot to bring your wedding dress. Of course, I have it! Do you think I would trust the airline to handle this? No freaking way! This thing is not leaving my sight. You asked me to design your wedding dress, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly,”
I was getting misty-eyed at the thought of seeing Tru walking down the aisle in one of my designs.
“Okay, eagle eyes! I still can’t believe you are staying for a whole month. How on earth did you manage that?” Tru asked curiously.
“Easy. I’ve never taken a vacation the entire time I’ve worked here, so they were pretty accommodating.” ‘They’ being Dana Lane, currently the hottest designer of wedding dresses in New York.
After I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and interned at Vera Wang, I’d been hired as a designer at Dana Lane and I’d been there ever since.
“I’m so happy we’ll get to hang out and you’ll be at my shower,” she said sweetly.
“I don’t know why you wouldn’t let us surprise you,” I said teasingly. “I know how much you love surprises!”
“Bitch!” she commented with a snort.
“The planes starting to board. I’ll call you when I land. See you soon!” I said before hanging up and gathering my things.
Driving the rental car through Lawrence, I marveled at how much it had changed over the years. It had grown so much. It was no longer the one-stoplight town I remembered from my childhood. Progress had reached even Kansas. I noted happily there was even a Starbucks.
I had wanted to stay in a hotel for the month, but Tru has insisted that I stay at her place. I had missed her company so much, I didn’t have the heart to disagree. It would make my maid of honor duties much easier.
It is early evening when I arrive at Tru’s place. I knocked on her door excitedly. When she threw the door open, her whoop of excitement made me grin as we fall into each other’s arms.
“You’re finally here! I can’t believe it!” she says as she hugs me tightly.
“I can’t believe it either. Let the bridal festivities begin!" I say with a smirk as I hand her a bottle of wine.
"I'm starving. I thought we'd go out for a bite to eat if you're not too tired."
"Tired is for wimps. I slept on the plane. As long as we go to Harvelle's," I said eagerly. "I've missed their cheeseburgers."
"As if I would take you anywhere else on your first night back! Let me show you where the guest room is," Tru said over her shoulder as she leads me towards the back of the townhouse.
"So, are you and Benny buying a house?"
"No. He lives in the house his parents left him. I'm going to move in after we're married. I'll give you some time to freshen up and get settled. I'm really glad you're here, Y/N," her smile made my eyes prickle with tears.
"Love you Trudy Beth," I whispered. "Sorry I've been gone so long," I say as I hug her tightly again.
"You're here now, that's what matters," she says into my shoulder as she hugs me back.
‐‐‐------------
Harvelle’s Roadhouse is an institution is Lawrence. It has been around for years, and their burgers are legendary. I waitressed here on the weekends when I was in high school, and it hasn’t changed a bit.
We had just started eating when I heard someone calling my name. I turn around and Jo Harvelle is coming towards me. “Y/N!,” she said excitedly. “I can’t believe you’re back!”
Jo, Tru and I were very close friends in high school. I am happy to be with them again. “Hi, Jo! You didn’t really think I would miss Tru’s wedding, did you?”
Jo looks over at me with a grin on her face, “With the two of us as bridesmaids, this is going to be one hell of a wedding, don’t you think?”
I am about to respond when two men walk over to where we are sitting. “Benny!” Tru exclaims as the handsome bearded man leans down and kisses her.
My eyes lock with the other man. It’s been years, but I would recognize those green eyes anywhere. I give him a tentative smile. His eyes are cold as he sneers, “looks like the famous fashion designer has decided to grace us with her presence. Aren’t we lucky?”
“Fuck you, Dean!” I snap as I stand up, glaring at him. “I need some air,” I tell Tru as I turn and walk out.

Alpha! Werewolf Sam Winchester, Alpha! Werewolf Dean Winchester, Jody Mills, Beta! Dr. Castiel Novak, reader
You had turned the radio off ten miles back, concerned by the weird rattling sound the engine was making. The check engine light had popped on a few minutes ago, and you were praying the car would make it to a rest stop or somewhere safe.
Watch out for the full moon, that’s when the crazies are out.
Your superstitious Gran had told you this your entire life. As your eyes scanned the deserted stretch of road for any sign of civilization, you eyed the round, fat moon that hung low in the sky and a shiver passed through you.
“I should have just sold this piece of shit and flown to Fresno,” you muttered under your breath as your car gave a pathetic wheeze and drifted to a stop. “Great, just great.”
Your small IT company in Richmond, Virginia had been purchased by a large conglomerate based in Fresno, California. You had always had a desire to live on the West Coast, so you’d applied for a transfer. You’d made a trip out a few months ago and found a condo to rent. Money was tight, so you’d decided to save a few bucks by keeping your car and driving to California, but now you were regretting it.
What had seemed like a big adventure was now turning out to be a huge pain in the ass. With any luck, there was a tow truck somewhere in East Bumfuck, Kansas that could come tow you to a nice Motel 6.
Pulling out your cell, you sighed in annoyance. No signal of course! There probably wasn’t a cell tower for miles. Trying one more time to start the car, you turned the key and nothing happened.
“You unreliable piece of junk! As soon as I’m settled, you are toast!” you swore vehemently.
Snatching your purse off of the front seat, you grabbed your phone and your keys and locked the car before stomping away. You recalled seeing a sign a few miles back for a town, so you headed off in that direction.
The moon was bright but it was still very dark as you walked the lonely stretch of road. You weren’t scared per se, but you were a city girl, and this vast expanse of nothingness that seemed to stretch for miles was messing with your head.
The low howls of several wolves in the distance made your throat catch and you immediately started to walk faster. Shit, you hadn’t thought about wild animals when you’d left your car.
The prickling feeling that you were not alone made you whirl around, convinced someone was behind you. No one was there, but you felt eyes on you. The crackling of dry grass made you jump, and you took off running as adrenaline flooded your system.
Your human eyes barely detected the blur of grey that hit you out of nowhere, instantly knocking you off your feet. It was a flash of fur and fangs, more animal than man. Its strength was astounding. You fought hard, kicking at its legs to try to weaken it and throw it off you.
It sank its teeth deep into your forearm in an effort to subdue you, and your scream of pain echoed in the quiet night. Its intent was clear as it’s sharp talons shredded your jacket and shirt and pulled them from your frantically thrashing body.
The creature slammed your head to the ground so hard your ears were ringing, and the last thing you remember before losing consciousness was the brightness of headlights shining in your eyes.
Sam had just returned to his car after shifting back into his human form. It had been a while since he had shifted during a full moon, and it felt good to shed his human skin and allow his wolf to take over.
He always kept a change of clothes in his car because more than once in his younger days he’d either destroyed his clothes during the shift or forgot where he had left them.
He grabbed his phone off the passenger seat and frowned when he noticed several missed calls and voicemails from his brother. That was unusual. He immediately dialed his number.
“Where the fuck have you been?” Dean demanded.
“I told you I was going to shift tonight and go for a run. What’s wrong?” he asked impatiently.
“Jody called. She was out patrolling on Highway 10 and she came across a wolf attacking a woman on the side of the road.” Dean sounded grim.
“Was it one of ours?” Sam immediately asked.
“Jody didn’t get a good look. It ran off. She’s hurt pretty bad. Jody is bringing her here.”
“Dean, she should go to the hospital. We don’t need to get involved. Let’s just stay out of it.” Sam advised.
Keeping the humans in the dark about the existence of their kind was hard enough. This certainly wouldn’t help. Jody Mills was one of the few humans who knew what the Winchesters and their pack were, and they paid her well for her silence.
“It bit her, Sammy,” Dean said quietly.
“I’m on my way,” Sam told him before hanging up and heading quickly back to town.
There were two ways to become a werewolf. You could be born into it, like Sam and Dean. Lycanthropy was in their bloodline. Their father had been the pack Alpha. They were considered “purebloods.” They could shift completely at will, not just when the moon was full.
The second way was to be bitten by a werewolf. The change was much more unpredictable this way, and some were only able to partially shift, and only during the full moon.
“This is going to be a problem,” Sam swore.
Whoever this girl was, she had a few hours at most before she began to transition into a werewolf. Her old life as she knew it was over.
Since Jared, Jensen, and Misha made the announcement on Friday that season 15 would be the last, the internet has been flooded with many people expressing such sadness over the news. But I am choosing NOT to be sad. And here’s why:
This show wasn’t supposed to go past season 5, but it was so awesome that we were blessed with 10 more seasons to obsess over. So we got way more Winchesters than we were probably meant to.
While the show is ending, I will still have the lessons I have learned. Family don’t end in blood, and I have made many friends because of this show.
Because of this show, I have seen many examples of people using their “celebrity” to do good in this world, to bring understanding and attention to many worthy causes, and to help those in need.
Because of this show, I started writing fanfiction and felt acceptance enough to even let other people read it.
Some of you I have met, some of you I may never meet, but we will always have this show in common. One of the best nights of my life was spent in a pub in England talking Supernatural all night with three friends I had met on here. They just “got” it.
Jared and Jensen have given 15 years of their lives to this show. All of them have gone to cons, answered the same stupid questions over and over with a smile, posed for pictures even when they were tired or sick. Their fans mean EVERYTHING to them.
All good things must come to an end. They have given us so much! It’s time for us to give them back to their families and let them see their kids grow up.
The show may be ending, but the SPN family will go on. And I look forward to reading many more years of the adventures of the Winchester Brothers.
Pairing: Sam X past reader, Sam X Ruby (currently)
A/N: Did you like the movie “The Parent Trap” as a kid? It is one of my favorite movies! I decided to write my own version, with a Supernatural twist, of course!
Summary: Mary Winchester and Annie Campbell meet at summer camp, and they quickly realize they look too much alike for it to be a coincidence. They are twins! Their parents, Sam Winchester and Y/N Campbell divorced 12 years before, each taking custody of one girl. Now Sam lives in California and Y/N in New York. The girls hatch a plan to bring their parents back together, but will Sam’s new fiancee ruin their plans?
Part 1 My Master List
“Sam? What are you doing here? I thought we were picking Mary up at the airport tomorrow?” you asked, the confusion evident on your face.
“I didn’t really like the idea of Mary flying all that way by herself, and I wanted to see Annie. So I flew out with her, and I’m flying back tomorrow,” Sam said sheepishly.
“I’m so glad you did!” Annie exclaimed happily, practically knocking you over in her haste to hug him.
Sam looked over her shoulder at you, waiting for your reaction. You smiled gently at him to let you know you weren’t too mad.
“Well, I just wanted to make sure she got here safely. I have a hotel room reserved for the night at the airport.” Sam told you and the girls.
“No way, the airport is gross! Can’t he stay here with us tonight, Mom?” Annie asked, instantly knowing a good opportunity when she saw it.
“I don’t want to intrude on your time with the girls,” he said immediately.
“You’re welcome to stay here, as long as you don’t mind sleeping on the couch,” you informed him.
His smile lit up his whole face. “That would be great! It’s a later flight anyway.”
Annie pulled Mary into the apartment excitingly, but Sam still stood in the hallway, looking uncertain.
“Are you coming in or what?” you finally asked. He nodded without speaking, a heated look passing between you. “I know you really just came to see me, Sam,” you said jokingly.
“Maybe I did,” he whispered as he walked into your apartment. You felt your cheeks get red.
As Annie and Mary headed off to her room to get settled, you invited Sam to join you at the kitchen table. “Would you like something to eat? Some coffee?”
“Coffee would be great,” he replied
“Just milk, right? How are Dean and Donna? Anything new with them?”
“Yep.” You could tell he was pleased that you remembered. “So Dean and Donna went to Minnesota to spend Thanksgiving with Donna’s family.”
You blinked in surprise. “No way! Is it getting serious?” Dean had always enjoyed playing the field ever since Stanford.
“Oh, it IS serious. He says our ‘trainwreck’ has made him reevaluate his priorities.” Sam told you with a wry grin.
“I wouldn’t call it a trainwreck, exactly.” A thought occurred to you. “So what are you doing for Thanksgiving then?”
“Juliet and I are going to eat sushi and binge-watch Breaking Bad.”
You gave him a stern look. “Absolutely not! You are staying here, and spending Thanksgiving with us.”
“You don’t have to do this because you’re feeling sorry for me, Y/N,” Sam said indignantly.
“Maybe I’m doing it because I want to spend time with you, you moron!” Grinning at the surprised look on his face, you called out to the girls. “Mary, Annie, can you come here please?”
They appeared at the table, clearly thrilled to be together. “So girls. It turns out that your uncle went to Minnesota with Donna to visit her parents. I invited your dad to spend Thanksgiving here with us. Is that okay with you two?”
The twins exchanged a surprised look, then identical grins broke out on their faces. “That would be awesome!” Annie said happily.
Mary gave you a serious look. “Are you sure you two are okay with it?”
Annie rolled her eyes. “With the amount they text, they are BFFs now.”
You smiled at Mary’s thoughtfulness. “Yes, we are both okay with it. Right, Sam?”
He nodded in agreement. “Absolutely.”
After getting the girls settled for the night in Annie’s room, you dug around until you found a comforter and some pillows for Sam. Eyeing the couch critically, you glanced up at him. “Are you sure you want to do this? I can’t see how this will be comfortable. You’re twice as long as the couch.”
“I’ll manage. Unless you’re offering to let me sleep with you? Your bed looks big enough.” Sam stated nonchalantly.
You threw a pillow at him. “Oh you’d like that, wouldn’t you? You’re going to have to try way harder than that, Mr. Winchester. I’m not going to make this easy on you.”
“Duly noted, Ms. Campbell,” he replied with a dimpled smirk.
Handing the bedding over to him, you whispered seductively, “Well I’ll leave you to figure this out while I put on my lingerie in my big, empty bed.”
“That’s a low blow, Y/N,” he muttered under his breath.
You snorted with laughter as you headed off to your room. Oh, this was going to be fun.
The next morning you woke to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Coming out of your room, you saw that Sam had made breakfast for the girls.
“Saved you some,” he said as he slid a plate in your direction.
“Since when do you cook?” you said doubtfully, giving the plate a suspicious look.
“Since I got divorced and realized I still liked to eat,” he informed you and the twins giggled.
“So Mom, I was thinking we could show Dad and Mary around today. Maybe go see the tree at Rockefeller Center?” Annie said around a mouth full of pancakes.
“Tomorrow’s Thanksgiving. Don’t we have to go grocery shopping?” Sam asked curiously.
“Since it was only going to be the three of us, I ordered a pre-cooked meal from Zabars. We just have to heat everything up,” you told him.
“Microwaved Thanksgiving dinner?” Sam said doubtfully.
“Trust me, it’s delicious, you’ll love it,” you assured him
It was a pretty cold day but everyone bundled up as you took Sam and the girls around the city. As soon as Mary saw the ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center, she insisted that you needed to skate.
“You girls go. I’m a terrible skater. Annie usually has to hold me up,” you told them with a wave of your hands.
“I’ve always wanted to try ice-skating outside, Mom. Annie can help me, and Dad can help you,” Mary responded helpfully.
“What makes you think I can ice skate, Mary?” Sam asked with a grin.
She shrugged, “you’re good at pretty much every sport, so I just assumed…..”
“You two go. I’ll take care of your mom.” Sam promised the girls.
Sam paid for all of you and Mary and Annie were quick to get their skates on and head out. Mary was as unsteady as a newborn colt, but Annie held her hand and guided her, and soon they were making slow progress around the track.
“Come on slowpoke,” Sam whispered in your ear. “You’re just postponing the inevitable.”
You glared at him as you got to your feet slowly, your legs as shaky as jello. Sam held out his hand and you grasped it tightly, inching your way onto the ice. You slowly progressed around the track, Sam’s hand tight in yours, and you began to relax.
The twins passed by the two of you several times, and they looked red-cheeked and happy. “Look at them,” you said to Sam. “Mary looks like she’s having a blast.”
Sam turned his head to look, and a teenager whipping around the track tried to maneuver around you. His shoulder bumped into yours, throwing you off balance, and you began to fall.
Flailing wildly, you were about to hit the ice face first when a hard yank on your arm pulled you upright and into Sam’s waiting arms. “I’ve got you. You okay?”
You nodded mutely, trying to catch your breath as Sam guided you off the ice to a bench just outside the rink. The girls were still skating. “Thanks for helping me. You’re my hero.”
Sam knelt in front of you and started to unlace your skates. “Let’s be honest, Y/N. I haven’t been your hero in a very long time. Having you in my life again has made me realize what a fool I was to not fight harder for us. But if you ever give me another chance, I’m going to spend the rest of my life making it up to you.”
Before you could respond, Annie and Mary had found you, and were talking non-stop.“We saw you almost wipe out at the end. Good thing Dad was there to catch you, huh Mom?” Mary said as you returned your skates.
“Yeah, good thing,” you said absently, your mind a million miles away
Thanksgiving was a wonderful day. You’d picked up your already prepared dinner the day before, and after heating and plating everything, you all dug in. Even Sam grudgingly admitted it was delicious. You watched Sam laughing and joking with the twins, he seemed to be having a good time.
“I got an email from work earlier. I am going to have to fly back on Saturday. I have some stuff I need to take care of in the office. Mary is still off of school next week, so you are welcome to keep her until next weekend if you want.” He looked sad for spoiling the holiday.
As your heart plummeted at the thought of him leaving, you came to a realization. You had fallen in love again with your ex-husband. The question was, what were you going to do about it?
“Mary, do you want me to fly back to get you so you don’t have to fly alone?” Sam asked his daughter.
Mary smiled broadly at her father. “I think I’ll be okay this time as long as Mom and Annie wait with me beforehand.”
“If you’re sure,” he said, a note of uncertainty in his voice.
“I want to spend as much time with Annie as possible.” Mary insisted.
“Hey Mom, there is a dance at the Boys and Girls Club tomorrow night. Carlos asked us if we wanted to go. His mom said she would take us. Is it okay if we go?” Annie asked.
You looked over at Sam. “Is it okay with you?”
“Who is Carlos?” he asked with a frown.
“He’s been Annie’s best friend since first grade. They live down the hall. I know both of his parents really well. They are good people.”
“Carlos likes Mary,” Annie announced nonchalantly.
“Annie! Shut up!” Mary hissed, her cheeks turning red.
You turned to Annie. “Is Enrique going too?” you asked.
“Yes.”
You turned to Sam, “Enrique is Carlos’ older brother. He is fifteen. His mother willl make him go to keep an eye on the kids. She is very over-protective. They will be fine.”
“I’m okay with it if you are,” Sam finally decided.
The next night, the girls spent what Sam thought was a ridiculously long time getting ready for the dance. He was flipping channels on the TV looking for something to watch while you got up for the third time when Annie frantically called, “Mom, we need you!” from her room.
You returned a few minutes later and sat down, looking a bit flustered. “Everything okay?” he asked.
“It is now,” you said a little dramatically.
“Anything I can do?”
“Not unless you want to have the discussion with the girls again about why they are too young to wear makeup,” you told him with a sigh.
“Makeup? Are you serious?” he asked in disbelief.
“Oh yes, and I’m pretty sure it’s from the dollar store,” you told him as you got up and headed to the fridge. “I need a drink. Want one?” you asked.
There was a knock at the door and Sam beat you to it. Damn his long legs! “You must be Carlos.” You heard him say. “I’m Annie and Mary’s dad. Come on in. Girls, Carlos is here!”
When the girls came out, they were dressed casually, but Sam could tell they had taken care with their appearance. “Hi, Carlos. The dance is over at 9:00, right?” you asked.
“Yeah. My Mom was going to take us out for ice cream afterward if that’s okay with you.” Carlos responded.
“That’s fine. She texted me already. She said she’d have you home by ten. Make good choices, you two,” you told your daughters.
“Take good care of my girls, young man,” Sam told Carlos, holding out his hand to shake.
“I will, Sir,” Carlos replied, and the three of them left.
You headed back inside. Grabbing two beers, and handing one to Sam. The two of you sat on the couch, and he flipped channels aimlessly for a bit. “So, we have about three kid-free hours on my last night here. What do you want to do?”
“I think we should have a talk.”
“About?” Sam asked casually, putting his beer on the coffee table and looking over at you.
“I realized something. I realized that I’m ready. I want this. I want you, I want our family. Somehow I’ve managed to fall in love with you again. Maybe I never stopped.” You stared at each other for a long moment as you waited for Sam to react.
A second later he picked you up out of your seat, and pulled you into his lap, straddling him. You arched up, taking his face in your hands as your lips met in a passionate kiss. His hands wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer as you ground against his growing erection.
You made out on the couch like teenagers, both of you panting with need until you thought you were going to explode. Finally, you managed to tear your mouth from Sam’s and extricate yourself from his embrace.
“Wait…..” he said, reaching for you.
You were dizzy with desire. Standing so quickly you got lightheaded you looked down at him, clothes askew, looking wrecked, and he stared back at you with eyes hazy with lust. You held out your hand. “We have about two solid kid-free hours, give or take. How about we make good use of them?”
Sam just gaped at you for a moment, eyes wide with shock. “Are you sure?” he asked in a ragged voice.
“Oh yeah. It’s now or never, Sam. The clock is ticking.”
He was off the couch in a flash, pulling you to him and kissing you until you were breathless. You leaned into him, and he pulled you towards the bedroom, pushing the door open with his foot.
He laid you down on the bed, his long body completely covering yours, the heat of him hitting you in just the right spots. His mouth sucked hard on your neck as he yanked your shirt over your head and tossed it aside. You sighed with pleasure as his mouth found yours again, one large hand cradling your head while he deftly unsnapped your bra with the other.
“Haven’t lost your touch, have you?” you giggled as he flung your bra away.
“I’ve thought about this a lot in the past five months,” Sam growled under his breath as you smiled against his mouth.
“Would you please get naked already?” you said impatiently, your hands pulling eagerly at his clothes.
“Can I just savor this for a moment?” he asked, brushing your hair away from your face. “The last time we had sex we were barely speaking. It was pretty much a hate fuck.”
You didn’t want to think about that time anymore. “Well I sure don’t hate you now,” you whispered as your hands made quick work of his shirt, and soon you were skin to skin, his erection pressing into your belly as he kissed every part of you he could reach, reacquainting himself with your body.
“Do you have any condoms?”
“I’m on the pill, so we’re all good,” you answered, wrapping your hand around him and guiding him into you, causing Sam to groan.
“Damn, I forgot how big you are!” you grunted against his shoulder as you felt him stretching you open.
“Am I hurting you?” he asked with concern.
You rolled your eyes. “Come on, Sam! If I can fit twins through there, I can certainly handle you. Now move!”
You wrapped your legs around his waist, bringing him balls deep within you. God, he felt good! “I’m not going to last long, Y/N.” he grunted as he thrust inside you.
“Me either,” you admitted. It had been too long. He began to move with more purpose, sliding almost all the way out, and back in, faster and faster. You could feel your pleasure rising, and when Sam reached down and began to rub your clit your legs began to shake.
“I’m close,” he whispered as he bent to kiss you hard, and with one last hard thrust, he swallowed your scream of pleasure with his mouth. You continued to shake as he groaned into your neck.
He collapsed on top of you, pinning you to the bed with his body. “Can’t breathe…..too heavy,” you managed to get out and he rolled off of you.
You spent the next few minutes just basking in post-coital bliss. When you looked over and saw that Sam was starting to fall asleep, you elbowed him. “We need to get dressed. The kids will be home soon!”
That got him up and moving, and the two of you were soon dressed and presentable. You grabbed two bottles of water from the fridge, and he turned on the TV, and you tried to act like you didn’t just get laid.
“Hey…..” Sam said suddenly, turning to you.
“Yeah?” you asked casually.
“Marry me,” he said earnestly.
“Very funny,” you reply with a roll of your eyes. “We have sex and now you think we should get married? Really?”
He looks sideways at you, his eyes shining with emotion. “I think we should get married because I love you and I have spent the last decade missing you. I want to wake up with you every morning for the rest of my life.”
Your throat is thick with emotion, and you swallow the lump that has formed. You reach out and take his hand. “Okay, Sam. I’ll marry you. We can talk to the girls about it when they come back.”
The girls return from the dance laughing and talking, their cheeks bright and flushed. “Did you guys have fun?” Sam asked.
“Yeah. It was pretty crowded, but we had a good time.” Annie told him.
“What time are you leaving tomorrow, Dad?” Mary asks.
“Pretty early,” Sam replies. “But your Mom and I want to talk to you guys about something before I go,” he gestures to the kitchen table and the girls take a seat, looking curious.
“What’s going on?” Mary asks in a worried tone.
“Well,” Sam looks over at you and smiles, taking your hand. “I’ve asked your Mom to marry me again, and she said yes.”
The girls immediately begin talking at once, each trying to be heard over the other. “This is the best news!” Mary says happily.
“Are we moving to California?” Annie demands.
“Will it be soon?” Mary asks immediately after.
They are firing questions at us so fast that we don’t have a chance to answer any of them.
“We haven’t really decided anything yet. He just asked me. We’ll have to figure some things out, but we wanted to make sure you two were okay with it.”
Annie and Mary exchanged a look between them. “We are totally okay with it,” Annie assures us.
Sam leaves the next morning, the girls grinning as he kisses you goodbye. ‘I’ll call you later,” he assures you as he heads out the door.
You spend the rest of the Thanksgiving holiday dealing with endless questions from your two over-excited daughters. It seems as though you talk about nothing else but weddings endlessly until your head is ready to explode.
At the end of the week, it is time to send Mary home to California. “You’ll come with Annie at Christmas?” She asks as we are getting ready to take her to the airport.
“Of course I will,” you assure her, responding automatically before you realize you haven’t discussed it with Sam. Oh well, the damage was done. You’d bring it up the next time you spoke.
After Mary was gone and you and Annie were home again, you sat her down to talk. “So how do you feel about all this, baby? I need to know that you are okay with this.”
Annie smiled broadly. “I’m happy you and Dad are finally together again, Mom. I’m excited to move to California, and I’m glad I’ll get to spend time with Uncle Dean and Donna. I can’t wait to get to see Mary every day. I miss her already.”
You reach out and hug her. “I miss her too, and your Dad. It will only be less than a month, and we’ll all be together again.”
You and Sam talk daily, Making plans. There is no question that Sam expects you to come for Christmas. You talk about the wedding. Should it be in New York or California? Should it be a small, intimate affair or a big, fancy bash?
“I’ve been thinking,” Sam begins one night. “No matter when the wedding happens, I want you and Annie to move to California as soon as possible. How do you feel about that?” He sounds tentative as if he is worried about your reaction.
“Actually, it’s funny you mention that,” you say with a laugh. “I’ve already given my notice at work. My last day is right before Christmas break. Annie and I are working on cleaning things out and packing up here. It won’t be done by the time we come for Christmas, but we’ll put a good dent in things.”
“Not much longer now. I can’t wait until you are in my arms again. I miss you,” Sam says with a sigh. “I don’t know who is happier about the wedding, Dean or Donna. They are over the moon.”
“I can’t believe I am getting you, my girls, and my two best friends all in one shot. I am the luckiest woman in the world,” you whisper, suddenly choked up.
“I’m the one who is lucky,” Sam assures you.
After a flurry of decluttering and cleaning and packing, you and Annie are on your way to California. Sam, Dean, and Mary pick you up at the airport and the girls squeal with happiness and hug each other tightly.
Dean rolls his eyes at them. “It’s only been a month since you’ve seen each other, guys.”
“Hi,” Sam says with a smile as he stands in front of you.
“Hi yourself,” you say as you lean in for a kiss.
“Get a room you two.” Dean comments and the twins giggle.
The Christmas holidays are wonderful with the family all together again. Sam surprises you with a stunning engagement ring, exactly what you would have picked out for yourself. “Oh, Sam, I love it!” you say as he slips it on your finger
“Well, I couldn’t afford an engagement ring last time, so I wanted to make it up to you,” he tells you as you throw yourself into his arms and kiss him soundly.
The girls are out with Dean and Donna and you and Sam are discussing the wedding, again. Lately, that’s all you seem to talk about. Everything about it has gotten bigger and more complicated and it seems like everyone has an opinion and it’s stressing you out.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” Sam asks finally. “You seem upset.”
You give him a half-hearted smile. “Can I be honest with you? This whole wedding business is really getting stressful. I wish we could just go to Vegas like we did before.”
Sam blinks with surprise. “So why don’t we? I don’t need a big wedding. I’m fine with just you and the girls and maybe Dean and Donna.”
Your mouth drops in shock. “Seriously? You’d be okay with it if I wanted to go back to that tacky little chapel we went to the first time?”
“Absolutely. If that’s what you want. We can go this weekend.”
“Where are you going this weekend?” Donna asks as she comes into the room laden with shopping bags. The girls trail in, also with bags and Dean is loaded down like a pack mule.
“We’ve decided to go to Vegas and get married,” Sam says with a grin.
“What? Again?” Dean snaps as he drops the bags on the floor. “What is it with you two and Vegas?”
“But we have to be there, Mom!” Annie says indignantly.
“Of course you do, baby! We want you all there. We’re going back to the place where we got married the first time.”
“And when’s this happening?” Dean demanded.
“Saturday,” Sam told his brother. “You in?”
“Hell Yeah! It’s Vegas!” Dean said happily
Epilogue
“Ooowwwww! That one fucking hurt!” you yelled as another contraction ripped through you. This wasn’t going at all like the twins birth. You were twelve years older, and you were feeling every damn year right now.
“Stupid 99% effective birth control pills!” you said angrily.
“Just focus on your breathing, Y/N, just like we practiced,” Sam said calmly.
“This is all your fault! I’m never having sex with you again, I mean it!”
The doctor who was kneeling between your open legs raised his head. “It’s time to push, Mrs. Winchester.”
Sam held your hand, and with a look of intense concentration on your face, you pushed, once, and again.
“I see the head!” Sam said excitedly.
The baby slid into the doctor’s arms as Sam gave a triumphant yell and you collapsed back in exhaustion.
“How much longer?” Annie said impatiently. “It’s been ages!”
“It will take as long as it takes,” Donna said firmly.
Dean lept to his feet as Sam came through the door dressed in scrubs. Mary’s face lit up as soon as she saw him. “Dad! she exclaimed, jumping up and running to him.
Everyone crowded around him, but he only had eyes for the twins. “Annie, Mary, you have a baby brother.”
As everyone hugged Sam and each other, Annie leaned over and whispered to her sister. “Our plan worked even better than we thought. Now it’s time to work on Uncle Dean and Donna.” Mary grinned at her, and they smiled in complete understanding.
Summary: The reader doesn’t keep a promise to her Father to give up hunting after his death, and a witch uses it against her, turning her into a “beast”. She has hidden from the world, but after she rescues Sam, will she hide from him too?
Part 1
When Dean regained consciousness, he was tucked into bed in an unfamiliar room. Looking frantically around him, he tried to sit up but he was too weak. “Sam!” he tried to call, but his voice came out as a hoarse croak.
He flinched when the door opened but a pretty woman with a long brown braid and kind eyes smiled at him when she saw he was conscious. “I’m so glad you’re awake! I was really starting to get worried! What’s your name?”
“Dean. Where’m I?” he managed to get out.
“I’ll get you some tea for your throat. You’re at my house. My name is Jill Merryweather. I was hiking last weekend with some friends and we found you lying by the creek. What happened to you?” she asked curiously.
Dean shook his head in frustration. “Find Sam,” he said.
Jill gave him a hard look. “I don’t know who Sam is, but what I do know is you almost died of hypothermia. You have a broken leg, and those cuts on your side are infected. You aren’t going anywhere until Dr. Harris says it’s okay.”
Dean turned to her with pleading eyes, willing his raw throat to let him speak. “Sam….brother…..forest……monster,” was all he was able to get out, and Jill’s eyes widened.
After Sam had eaten is fill he decided to go exploring. The house was large with many rooms. He found a library, well stocked with many books, some of which he knew were in the Men of Letters library. The house appeared to be clean and well kept. Someone lived here, but every room was empty.
Yet he couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t alone. Someone had to have brought him here after the fight with the werewolves. But why would they just leave him here?
He explored the entire house, finding one room with a lock on it he was unable to pick. Someone had put some sort of spell on it, and it wouldn’t open by normal means. He tried every trick and spell he could think of, but it wouldn’t budge. “Where’s Rowena when I need her?” he muttered to himself.
All the exploring made him hungry, so he headed back to the kitchen to look for something to eat. There was a plate of sandwiches and a pitcher of iced tea sitting on the counter.
“Show yourself, Dammit!” Sam yelled at the ceiling. “Why are you hiding from me?” But he got no response.
When he went back to his room, he realized how tired he was. As he lay in bed, in his mind he saw Dean falling into the water, and he saw something fight off the werewolves and save him. “It’s her,” they had said. What did they mean by that?
As he grew sleepy, he whispered out loud in the quiet room, “please, I won’t hurt you. You saved me. You don’t have to hide from me.”

The next morning when Sam woke, there was coffee and breakfast waiting for him in the kitchen. He’d decided that he was going to go exploring around outside and try to figure out where he was.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” a voice said in his head. A feminine voice. His head snapped up.
“Hello?” he said warily, looking around. He was alone.
He walked over to the front door and pulled it open, looking out into the woods. It actually was quite pretty. He took a step onto the porch when he heard the voice again. “I already saved you once, I really don’t want to have to do it again.”
Sam whirled around in a circle, but there was no one there. He took a step down off the porch. “Are you really this stupid, hunter? Do I need to spell it out for you? Don’t go in the woods. There is stuff that will eat you there.”
“How are you in my head? Are you a witch?” Sam demanded, going back inside and closing the door.
“No, I hate witches, but I have learned a thing or two from them.”
“Why won’t you come out? I’d like to meet you.” Sam questioned.
“No! Hunters shoot first and ask questions later. You should be flattered that I warned you about the forest at all! Don’t push your luck!”
“But.......” Sam started to say.
“No buts, hunter. This is MY house, MY rules. The sooner you get that, the better off you’ll be.”
