El otro día alguien me preguntó: -¿Por qué la unidad de disco duro predeterminada se etiqueta con la letra “C” y no con la "A" como debería ser? - En la década de los 80-, se utilizaban disquetes para arrancar los ordenadores en dos tamaños principales: 5 ¼ y 3 ½ que se nombraban como Disco local (A:) y Disco local (B:). Después, con la invención y popularización del disco duro, el disco de 8 pulgadas se introdujo en el hardware de los ordenadores y fue nombrado con la letra “C” (nuevo estándar de almacenamiento) y los disquetes, en cambio, quedaron obsoletos.

The drives beyond that one are labelled D, E, and so on. If you plug in USB drives, they get F and G. So yeah, what about A and B?
