Sly pulls up his binocucom and pans it over to the left of him. There is indeed what looks like a stray cat licking three little kittens and nursing them. She is on top of Sly’s jacket.

Bentley heaves a sigh. “Really, Sly?”

“Well, I wasn’t going to let her give birth on the cold, hard ground!” Sly protested. “And there were dogs and other cats around. I had to protect her while she was in labor!”

“Can we keep them?” Murray asks.

“That’s not a bad idea!” Sly agrees.

Bentley scrubs a hand over his face, but knows he’s lost already.

The mother cat ends up being called “Scraps.” She’s feral and doesn’t really trust anyone except Sly, a little. The kittens end up tamed, and Sly makes Bentley obsessively watch the local shelter until all three are adopted.

Sly takes Scraps to get spayed and then releases her. Admittedly, he cries a little when it’s all over.

Murray ends up getting him a little cat plush that looks similar to one of the kittens. Sly cherishes it forever.
