The Last Stand

‘But if you were the higher-up, how would you feel?’

They ask from their thrones of bones and steel.

‘I’m human like you, o sure you must see!’

But I stand my ground on the balcony

And say ‘One day you’ll fall and you’ll understand

That the pain comes from power that comes from your hand

And if I’m rich then eat me too-

Better to die than live as the rich do.’
