I think that they’re… perilously close to being good for each other in some way. Lux eventually gets some of her selflessness and chill into Kat, some of Kat’s selfishness rubs off on Lux just so the poor girl gets a sense of self-preservation “I can’t help anyone if I’m a wreck too” sort of thing, that’d be rad! But… there’s just too damn much. Katarina has done things that she knows that Lux could NEVER look past, Lux’s past as a spy ensures that Kat will never truly be able to trust her. And even if the relationship limped on past those things, Lux doesn’t exactly have a choice in the matter–Katarina is not a marriageable option for ALL THE REASONS. It can only end badly.

But gosh, it’s fun while it lasts.
