Cinder’s backstory makes me so fucking depressed. I want somebody to give her a hug and a home and a full meal. pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase
#a hearth#a warm fire#a bed#a thick blanket#the ability to come and go as she pleases#me not care about anything else#she's a walking wound#I don't care how evil she is your society is measured by your weakest sickest and poorest#and cinder's treatment is an abnegation of responsibility#and her role in the narrative is partly symbolic social wound#if you just kill her and be done with it then I think that's a failure of the narrative#because then you learnt nothing from adam#I think adam's death was actually deeply tragic#and clearly blake and yang still struggle with it#if anybody reads this and wants to jump down my throat you can acknowledge it's bad whilst also acknowledging it was immediately necessary#but it's not a clear absolution#and if they just reapply that situation to cinder it will be really stale#and his death won't have meant anything then either
