yeah, no, i'm actually not done. you know how i said the world hater majik is shepherd-coded? and how they're all about control?

well, i have something to add, because it goes deeper. they are shepherd coded and it is about control but the contrast to ich isn't hunter | shepherd, it's hunter | farmer.

and i say so mostly due to these things:

i called them their sheepdogs but it didn't sit right with me, the visual language didn't fit. but you know what it does fit to?

they're straight out of some surrealist take on the classic "peasant women in field" painting. which. honestly? once you combine it with the bones, and the way they're skinned carcasses (among other things, the angel wings are a detail i'll need to chew on for a while to come) might just be the single most elegant way i've seen someone incorporate a grim reaper motif in their villain in a while.

A super fun commission I've been working on for the past several weeks! This is the piece that I lost multiple hours of work on due to power outages enough times to give me a full-on emotional breakdown, and I hope seeing it indicates why that was the case.

This is @poeticphoenix's take on postcanon Genesis, which turns out is almost identical to my take on postcanon Genesis, so this was a super fun project to work on.
