❣️ - What are their love languages?

i've been thinking about this a lot and although elena displays a ton of assortments within this ideal i think there are three that beautifully favor prominent definitions of miss gilbert's love. physical touch : she is constantly touching people , platonic or not. it's how she shows lots of care and emotion with people she is utterly comfortable with and loves deeply for. a warm palm softly cups the arm, fingers slightly splayed , drawing soothing circles with her thumb before releasing. it's sympathy , reassurance , empathy , understanding , nurturing , its love. in certain goodbyes she's cupping her hand around the others elbow because saying goodbye can be so difficult for her and to get that last feel of the person she cares for before having to wait x amount time before getting to see them again feels so necessary. and when shes in love she's constantly trying to find the holes between fingers to fill them for herself and to drag her lips across skin and to pull and squeeze and to wrap herself around them . i think consecutively elena values the same respect in which touch is returned. in which she's kissing someone she wants them to hold her sides and pull her closer , to squeeze her and feel her curves and edges , to curl their fingers around hers when she fills the spaces between, to dig their fingers into her clothes and press deeper against her flesh when she needs them most. it's just SO important to her. acts of service : i think this one wavers between person to person but i very much believe it still applies pretty heavily in varying degrees. there's this super interesting form of symbolism where one person knows how to peel an orange , they do it easily and neatly. it's perfect every time. while the other, albeit might understand or conceptualize the idea of peeling the orange, never do because the orange is always already peeled. elena is always metaphorically peeling oranges for other people. this is folding and putting away laundry she knows has been sitting on the other's bed for days. knowing that someone has had a soul sucking day and promptly having their vice ready for them as soon as they walk through the door. ( this is shown pretty plainly canonically , especially with damon ) . planning small get togethers with friends that has something special for everyone there. cooking , preparing snacks , making lunches. checking on them over and over while they're being bed ridden with illness and always has medicine and blankets and love to share. it's all love!!! quality time : the idea of i don't care what we're doing as long as i'm doing it with you feels so elena to me it's not even funny. this is with most relationships too. oh do you want to come over and watch a movie with me ? maybe we can watch something nice that's nostalgic to us and we can explore a little bit more of eachother through this experience. or oh you're going to do monotonous errands ? if i come will it help feel a little less tiresome ? theres this thing you really like to do and it makes you happy and you thought of me to share it with ? they're sitting together on the couch doing their own things and feeling utterly full on it. and then to add touch too ????? fireworks. they've put their phone down and remain engaged and focused on what shes saying and in turn she always does the same. being present and there. gosh its all love.
