A Marine, George Inness, 1874-75
Wait... a marine? EXPLAIN WHATS GOING ON!
Mm why yes, anon. I seem to have a marine in my midst... 👀
http://www.youngcons.com/teen-thugs-brutally-assault-marine-while-eating-then-rob-him/ this is absolutely horrible. If the races were reversed you know this would be all over the news.
Sept 11th
-SOAPBOX-
I was in 8th grade and it was the most surreal day ever. In every class we went to, we watched the coverage. My English teacher cried and said, “If we see bodies falling from the towers, we’re turning it off.” We did. And she didn’t turn it off.
Seeing coverage of the people gaping up at the towers, covered in ash stays with me. A sixth grade teacher crying because she couldn’t get in touch with her brother who worked near the Twin Towers stays with me. All-calls of the floods of students checking out of school stays with me.
Bottom Line: God bless America. And really, God bless everyone who deals with this kind of thing EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am so blessed to live in a country that this is like a singular horrific event. There are so many other people who live in countries where this (while maybe not to the scale) and so many other terrible, indescribably evil things are the norm. Let us never forget how we felt and those lost; and let us remember that for some - they live with those feelings every day.

Marine Stuns the Crowd with 4th Verse of Star Spangled Banner Lyrics Most Americans Have Never Heard
In this classic video, a Marine with a powerful voice stunned a patriotic crowd in 2010 by singing the stirring fourth verse of The Star Spangled Banner, which many Americans have never heard.
A look at Francis Scott Key’s soaring lyrics, first written in 1814 and made our national anthem in 1931, shows it is not just a pleasant ode…
