Legends & Lattes: The Graphic Novel, by Travis Baldree, adapted by Samuel Sattin, illustrated by Shanti Rittgers and Sarah Webb
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well that was very sweet. I have to say, I have a soft spot for low-stakes, cute, queer graphic novels, and this one fit the bill perfectly. I had read the original Legends & Lattes book a couple years ago and had really enjoyed it, so I was excited to see there was a graphic novel adaptation since it seemed so well suited for it. The art was lovely, perfectly matching the vibe of the story, and the characters as well. The colour, the designs, the care that went into adapting it, all excellent.
I think anyone who read the original book will likely love this, and those who didn’t will still find something to enjoy. At worst perhaps the different format changes the slower, more chill pacing of the book in a few of the scenes, however that’s to be expected with another medium. But for me, as a fan of the original, and a lover of these kinds of stories in graphic novel format, it’s a five star read.
