guyssss maths is pissing me off as i dont get it so can you pleeeeease tell me what you get for this:

the straight line L passes through point with coordinates (-9,0) and has a gradient of 1/4. find the equation of the line L.

i got y=1/4x + 19/4 but the answer is y=1/4x +9/4

where did the 10 go??!!! as it was y -10= 1/4x +9/4

help! i know this is asking a lot though as this is tumblr and everyone on here hates maths :') but if you know why please help!
