Tbh i do jus wanna see poppy comic dubs sometime. I also extend this sentiment to ALIVE, and inverted fate. Like I wanna see some modern au comics get dubs.

Ages ago, @cameliasamica tagged one of my posts with: “someone should make [...] original characters legit inspired by this dynamic”.
And it’s very real, and I don’t know why that doesn’t happen. You can draw from so much when you’re writing and yet we end up with so many fictional characters who barely have an inch of meaning.
Make original characters with as much complexity and love and feeling and psychiatric disaster as you can fit into two bodies.
Write people who have that strength of connection, that painful impossible connection which is like flying... and then suddenly like bleeding.
Write people loving each other with outrageous understanding and pure acceptance and sunlight that makes you ache. Write them loving each other with jealousy and confusion and selfish agony at the same time, in the same breath.
Create characters who love the worst parts of each other more than the best. Who are more alike than not, and less alike than two people have ever been.
Just write me people who think they are very much one thing, while being this other, far more confusing, bitter, hurt and delicate thing, whose best friend thinks they are something else again, and who doesn’t want to be any of those things so pretends to be another thing altogether.
Don’t attempt some dull fuck up of a biopic of the beatles, just create characters even a quarter as good. Write an entire sprawling tv series about best friends who take on the fucking world and win and win and win, and then collapse in on themselves for helpless small reasons which they all half recognise as meaningless, but they’re exhausted and terrified, and they let it unravel just the same, until in the final season they destroy everything they made needlessly and for nothing and your audience hate you and love you and don’t know where to put themselves.
Why write such dull nothingness, when you could so easily steal John and Paul and just pour out the pure pain of soul destroying love that nobody will ever make sense out of?
