Ottawa Centaurs' autographs (as they exist in my head):

- Ilya's signs his in Latin alphabet as well as Cyrillic

- Shane's looks like a little kid made it, because the first time someone asked him for one he was like 15 and completely unprepared. He refuses to change it because so many people already have the original one.

- Troy's looks like chicken scratch, no matter how hard he tries, he does start making an effort to smile as he signs them, so people know he appreciates it

- Wyatt especially likes signing goalie gear, he also likes to exchange his autographed sticks for comic books

- If he has the time Luca will draw a little picture next to it, especially if it's for a younger fan

- Bood carries extra markers with him, so he can sign stuff with different colours and not just black/blue

- Dillon's writing is surprisingly nice, it's just a shame it had never been used to record a single original thought

- Young just uses the letter Y and his number

- Holmberg adds a little smiley next to his signature

- Dykstra originally wrote 'dyk' but was informed by Wyatt that maybe he should change it. He now just uses his first name

- Chouinard created an elaborate signature after he was informed by his daughter it was boring. It now includes hearts and stars.

- The only two letters legible in LaPointe's autograph are L and P, everything else is miniscule, Young and Holmberg like to say it's because he doesn't actually know how to write his name

- Coach Wiebe is still surprised every time he gets asked to sign something, he loves doing it though

Bonus: Yuna had never expected to be asked for an autograph, but a lot of people acknowledge how hard she has worked to suppor Shane. She is very surprised when a teenager asks her to sign a photo of her with Ilya and Shane, but also flattered to be seen as inspirational

Shane: but he sucks at hockey? like he’s SO bad

Ilya: he’s still a good dude

Shane: …but.. but the hockey?! he’s atrocious

Shane: fine! but he can sit in the back so i won’t have to look at him

Ilya: wait sit? we didn’t order any chairs did you get chairs?

people ask me "why is ur wyatt hayes half filipino??? he's white and blond!!!" when i talk about my cens hcs... his canon appearance is irrelevant to me. since most of the cens dont have canon appearances, i just go by how i imagine them. i see dykstra having some indigenous heritage (i base this on the fact manitoba, from what i remember is the home to 18% of canada's indigenous people if memory serves me right) and chouinard to me has french background. none of the rookies are simply white, they all have mixed backgrounds!!! the cens are THAT team with different types of heritages.

i love ragging on tanner dillon being egregiously mid as much as the next hater, but i also love the idea that once shane is his center he's somehow able to make magic happen, and suddenly dillon's getting a crazy number of assists off of shane and luca. ilya is confused until he remembers that shane spent over a decade with pike on his wing and won 3 cups. being able to get the puck in the net with a mid winger is famously part of the shane hollander formula.

not really related, but i also love the idea of first line being barrett - roz - bood, second line being dillon - hollander - haas, and then they have the all gay power play of barrett - roz - hollander - haas.

Was thinking about my favourite dialogue in Play It By Ear and it reminded me of everyone's favourite team the Ottawa Centaurs so here we are 😅

Ottawa Centaurs and how I imagine they look like after reading so many fanfictions that they started to become main characters. I am not totally happy because they are not 1:1 how I imagine them but... Close enough I guess. Oh and Idgaf if it's canon. I read the books tho.
