Here are a few drawings I did from my Ben 10/Young Justice Crossover, A Reflection. Aka, an enemies to brothers and found family story between Ben and Albedo from Ben 10 whilst they're stranded in the YJ Universe.
I drew these in between doing work when I needed a brain break, lol.
In the most recent arc of this story, the 'Performance Arc' based on the episode titled Performance in Young Justice, Ben and Albedo get a little bit harder to tell apart, lol. These are their "Day" and "Dare" Danger Uniforms, with Albedo as Day, and Ben as Dare.
I know without Ben ranting about clowns in this pic, it'd be pretty hard to tell them apart. (Their watches are being hidden by a spell on the necklaces they're wearing). However, there is a few things to look for that can give it away. Usually expressions do the trick, as Albedo is more neutral whilst Ben is expressive. But Ben is taking his clown theory very seriously right now.
There is one other difference though.
Another arc, called the 'Images Arc' with an encounter between Ben as his Young Justice persona, Deka and the tyrant, Queen Bee, who is after the secrets of Ben's changeling powers. I think this may be the design for Ben's Deka outfit I've been leaning towards the most, with his usual cargo pants, a soccer shirt, arm guards, tennis shoes, and gloves.
Ben really favors the causal look in his hero clothes.
This is slightly deviant from what he's wearing when he first meets the Young Justice team, as he didn't have a mask initially and just used a random bandana he found in his dresser.
Yeah... Ben's not used to having to keep his face a secret.
And speaking of interesting designs. This is a scene from the "Failsafe Arc" which features the Omnitrix as an actual character. The Omnitrix personified can take any alien form, but it's default is Ben's form. The Omnitrix is sentient, but speaks mostly in code and commands.
This may accidentally cause the Omnitrix to be a bit of a horror movie villain for a little while. The Omnitrix only wishes to help and to protect it's user. It doesn't really consider that it might be scaring the daylight out of people.
Ben's life is in danger if it does not act, and the actions it takes are seemingly pretty drastic. Top that off with it's limited speaking patterns, and the Omnitrix comes off outright menacing.
The final image I've drawn from this book is from the "Revelation Arc" and features Dr. Fate & Albedo's hero persona, Reflect.
Almost every version of YJ's Nabu with the helmet on has the same copy and paste outfit, but structured to fit the body of whoever is wearing it. I wanted to add a few elements of Albedo into the Nabu & Albedo Dr. Fate design.
Therefor, I've replaced the golden circles with red centers, and instead of a dramatic collar, this version of Fate wears a hood. This is because Reflect also wears a hood in his hero persona.
I wanted to capture the idea of Fate taking control of the new form, and depict the magic in his hands as turning from crimson red to brilliant gold. It somewhat gave the magic a fire effect on accident.
These were a lot of fun to make and really helped me clear my head!
