JAYCE CRIMSON for @madebycoffee
Jayce was in a car crush when he was 14. This accident left him in a coma for six months, and his road to recovery included two years of physical therapy. His life basically came to a halt. During that time, he was in and out of the hospital, and the staff became his family. Seeing the dedication of his medical team, he decided to devote his life to medicine. At 31, he is just graduating med school, a feat which took him longer because of those years he lost. While he knows getting to know someone right now would be difficult, as he embarks on the journey of residency, which promises to take up a lot of his time, he also feels his life is right on his desired track, which makes it the right moment for him. After all, he wants a family sometime soon, and he does not want to lose more time.
Facts about Jayce
Because of the time his recovery took, Jayce spent his late teens in high school, graduating two months short of his 20th birthday. While he was a good student, this definitely took a toll on his development. As a result, he is a bit immature for his age, which you can notice in his sense of humor. However, due to the hardships he had to endure, he is resilient and optimistic, his goofball characteristics helping him cope. He’s definitely the right person to have around during a crisis and knows how to defuse intense situations.
He was born in Sulani, but his family had to move to DSV when he was 3. He feels a connection to his hometown, however, and is interested in moving back there after he is finished with his residency. He has spent many summers there at his grandparents’ home, and likes to surf when he’s there.
His name means healer, which fits him in many ways.
His mother, Hanna is a teacher, and his dad, Joel, is the curator of the DSV museum.
He loves cats and has one named Milo.
Loves the rain, and thinks spending time in the rain or near it with a loved one is the most romantic thing.
While he was first attracted to Taine, he is up for whatever. He is looking for connection more than anything, so whoever he hits it off with, he can make it work.
His pinterest board
Well, obviously I had to enter Caroline’s bachelor/ette, forcing myself to exit my dark cave. I’ll admit I’m not as inspired as I’ve been before, but I made someone I like. I hope he gets chosen and finds true love. At least, he’s gonna have a little fun. As for dark secrets, I might be working on something, who knows. But for now, he seems quite the perfect guy.
P1) Hey, I read through you Ghost ask, and I feel obligated (as a major fan, like Ghost made me cry unhealthy amounts of tears) to defend it. It's been mentioned in a post somewhere on this site, but Ghost brings out the essence of Kamen Rider easily: never give up, believe in yourself, you are your own person, your future is yours to control. The characters had their own quirks and character development, and even though the plot was jumpy (which many people moan about)
I combined the three parts of your askbox message for the sake of being more concise. I want to thank you for your opinion on this. This is one of the reasons I don’t like to go negative because even a show that the majority of fans do not enjoy or could not get into will speak to someone in ways that it does not connect to another viewer. Two shows I have really enjoyed; Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters and Ressha Sentai ToQger are strangely divisive in tokusatsu fandom.
Every show has the potential to say something different to different parts of the audience who watch it. Just because I didn’t get the same connection to Kamen Rider Ghost that you did (and I wish I could have because I never want a show to not work for me) does not mean I am going to say you’re wrong or try and invalidate your opinion. In fact, a well-reasoned defense of a series I did not enjoy can actually help me to re-evaluate things. Believe it or not, I used to not enjoy Kamen Rider Den-O because of how different it was from the shows around it but I now really enjoy it as the unique entry in the franchise it is.
As to your points, though I do not agree with some of them, I can see where you are coming from. I also completely agree on the characters. The characters (especially Akari and Makoto) were what kept me coming back to the show and watching it to the end even when the plot would frequently lose its way or in the opening dozen or so episodes that seemed like one giant fetch quest for merchandisable trinkets.
Thank you for your thoughts! I always appreciate a second opinion on shows I may not have appreciated in their initial runs.
i wonder if this will end up as one of my Top Regrets, cutting my own hair in secret in my room in my pants
"atap" bm my boy are these your own musings
