A Sewing Machine
Daniel Molloy supposedly remembers a song in the background (late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning; i can't for the life of me find any record of that being broadcast in San Francisco) right and during the time he asks Louis to turn him and Louis charges him and drains him.
It's this one:
The Perils of Pauline (1947) (4:18 in this recording) a movie about an actress who gets her big break in a serial about a damsel in distress tied to the railroad tracks,
goes to Paris to perform in a nightclub, and retires when she breaks her leg.
With these lyrics:
Ohhh, the sewing machine, the sewing machine /A girl's best friend/ If I didn't having my sewing machine /I'd a-come to no good end...
It cuts back in to Armand yanking Louis off him and chucking Daniel into a wall to this (cuts back in at 5:12; about 54 seconds figures in that memory)
But a bobbin a bobbin/ and peddle a peddle /And that's the end of Jim '/Cause by night I get so weary I/ don't even look good to him
Now Louis doesn't get to say any of this to Daniel but we know back in 1947/1948 that Claudia:
left/ran away from a murder scene (from New Orleans) to join a theater troupe
went to Paris
got her head sewn to another body (The Vampire Armand)
asked him to turn a seamstress (Madeleine)
My grandmother had a very similar sewing machine with a treadle. The wires are worn well past the point of fire hazard. Once my mother, who was five, ended up putting the needle through her hand out of boredom.
who was the star of her show
I do want to learn how to sew, but it's kind of daunting.
And can a machine that inexpensive be that good?

I'm making a dress for an Event™️ but here's the catch, I have never in my life made a piece of clothing. Do I know what I'm doing? Nope. Do I know how to read patterns and shit? Nope. Do I have a shit ton of audacity and access to Pinterest? Yup. I have no experience but I'm gay enough to have the confidence so let's do this!!
