God I want pet rats so bad but 1) mom haaates and is super grossed out by rats and 2) they're so short-lived that I wouldn't be able to bear it :(
#personal#but they're so fucking CUUUUTE AUGH#we're planning on getting cats as soon as we move into the new place and net in the balcony so i'll get pets soon enough#but rats are so pocketsized#i'd have a little buddy by my side#a sidekick#which a cat can also be but cats have this tendency to get in your face and sit on you#which is good and fine but it would be great if they could just be smaller about it#more managable#and i feel like a rat is the perfect size for a cuddly friend who is also sooo convenient shape-wise
