History
For a fully coordinated mission with the whole team, it sure went bad very quickly.
Though that did tend to happen when you unknowingly walk your team straight into a supervillain’s den. It didn’t take long to realize that they were outmanned and outgunned, surrounded and deep inside enemy territory. Regrettably, but without much choice, Leader had given the order for the team to surrender. They had all been ordered to the floor and left kneeling in an arc facing an ominous door. They all hung their heads, trusted to cooperate based on silent threat alone.
Except Sidekick, apparently. Hero noted through lowered eyes that Sidekick was flanked by two henchmen, each with a vice-like grip on their shoulders. Their hands had been bound behind their back, despite the fact that they had done nothing to warrant it and none of the other members of the team had received the same precautions. Sidekick sat calmly without question, somehow still earning the wary looks of every guard stationed around the large room. The rest of the team went largely ignored as they exchanged questioning glances.
Hero themselves was wracking their brain to make sense of the situation, but the door heaved upon before they had a chance to form any sort of an explanation.
Supervillain was as strong and imposing as his name suggested. He was a pretentious-looking man—clean-shaven and crisply clothed—with an attitude to match. A gnarly jagged scar stood out across his face, often cited as his most defining physical feature. Hero would add that he also had a glare that could cut down cities, and right now it was directed at one specific member of their team.
To Hero, it didn’t make sense.
None of them were any direct match for Supervillain, least of all Sidekick. They weren’t healthy enough for the field; they were just tech support. Strictly in-office. Well, usually. There was no conceivable reason to keep them here, especially restrained as they were.
Leader, always looking out for the team’s well-fare even in the worst of positions, immediately tried to start bargaining for their most vulnerable member.
“We will continue cooperate. Under one condition.”
The Supervillain released a distracted hum.
“You release Sidekick.”
Leader clenched their jaw after presenting the demand.
“Is that so?”
Supervillain didn’t even turn his head towards Leader. To their credit, Sidekick didn’t turn away either, though Hero had no idea how they managed it. Hero could hardly manage that level of stoicism in the Supervillain’s presence.
Hero chimed in, reasoning, “Let them go. They’re harmless to you.”
Supervillain’s eyes narrowed inexplicably at that. Simultaneously, said member of the team scoffed.
“His face would beg to differ.”
Hero turned a surprised gaze to find their sidekick shooting a rueful look towards the aforementioned face. The thoughts behind the team’s eyes turned from shock to terror.
Sidekick never mouthed off. Sidekick hardly ever spoke at all.
Hero watched as fingers curled tighter over the shoulder of Sidekick’s shirt.
What the hell were they talking about?
Hero shifted their panicked gaze to Leader, only to find them running their eyes across the villain’s face. Hero followed suit, eyes widening as they did.
Was Sidekick implying…?
Supervillain paid their further pleas no mind. They addressed only the one group member when they spoke.
“And here I thought you would have used me as part of your resume.”
He watched them down the bridge of his nose, still standing a considerable distance away.
“Some of us have merits of our own, that don’t involve a list of who we’ve harmed.”
The room went quiet. The guards shifted uneasily all around. Neither person broke their gaze.
No way.
Hero’s head spun at the sight. No one was stupid enough to outright attack or even provoke the supervillain or his lackeys, especially not like this.
Or maybe, Hero thought as they glanced towards the stone-cold glare Sidekick was holding with their chin held high, nobody was ever brave enough.
@whumplicity
Sidekick instantly froze at the heavy hand planted against there shoulder, heart stopping as there eyes widened.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
Hero’s cold voice was enough to send shivers down Sidekick’s spine;
“Just..just thought-“
“Thought I wouldn’t find out? Thought I wouldn’t notice you sneaking out? Thought I wouldn’t notice you sneaking out each night to go talk to villain, hm? Which one is it, Sidekick- and let me make myself clear- you lie, you’re dead.”
HII I LOVE UR WRITING ITS ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS AND I HAVE A REQUEST
Could you do a scenario where the Villain is in another fight with the hero. But they notice something is really off abt hero. They seem clumsy and scared. Villain then realizes its not hero, but an imposter wearing hero’s suit.
Villain interrogates the imposter on where hero is, and they go rescue them wherever they are.
Thats all I have (U don’t have to do it if u don’t want to ;)
Sibling shenanigans
Warnings: Slightly flirty. Tension. Language. Potential double dates? Kind of combines the flirty/funny and sibling storylines. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Villain paused mid-swing, their eyes narrowing suspiciously. Something felt utterly and completely wrong, yet they failed to pinpoint what exactly. If they didn't know any better, they'd assume that Hero was pulling their punches - but they did know better, and this half-presence felt nothing like their nemesis' usual style. They tilted their head, studying Hero's movements on the rooftop - way too clumsy, hesitant and cautious for a professional gymnast-turned-crimefighter. One could say they seemed afraid of heights.
For a moment, Villain stared as if deciphering the equation that was in front of them. Hero never missed a chance to flirt mock them during battle - as much as Villain enjoyed the rare silence, the ambience felt off enough for them to catch the shift. The usual tension between them was missing, the air no longer charged by begrudging attraction and unsubtle sexual tension. Almost like... Just then, Villain notices Hero attempting to sneak away and darts out before they can process, body-slamming them into the wall with their hands braced on either side of Hero's head.
"Gotcha," Villain smirks at the slight stutter in their enemy's breathing pattern. Now that they think about it, Hero's physicality is different too - they seem a few inches shorter than usual, a little lankier and less gracious in motion. Oh, so that's what's happening here. Villain's grin widens with understanding, "Spill it. Who are you?"
Hero avoids their gaze, attempting to fake a deep voice yet making it painfully obvious. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Villain scoffs, holding back a laugh. This was a freaking kid, wasn't it? For heaven's sake, Hero must be desperate to send a newbie against their biggest enemy.
"Where are they?" Villain asks, their hand coming to rest on the kid's throat, not pressing yet. "And don't lie to me," they warn, tightening their grip by a fraction but remaining attuned to their surroundings, as if expecting Hero to jump out any moment now, "You had me fooled for a moment, I'll give you that."
The kid seems to deflate, glancing around, frantic and hopeless upon realising they have no way of overpowering Villain, they let out a defeated sigh. "I don't know." The confession comes out as a hoarse whisper; the raw vulnerability behind it hits Villain like a gut punch. Something's off.
"Explain," they demand, relaxing their fingers on the kid's neck, "who are you and why are you posing as Hero?"
"Um... we're siblings," the kid starts, and Villain jerks their hand away from their neck as if burned. Hero's sibling was barely out of high school. They might have looked into it when searching for leverage against them. Villainous intent aside, they'd never stoop so low as to threaten an underage and uninvolved family member. "I thought I could scare you into leaving without harming anyone if I impersonated them," the fake hero mumbles under their nose.
