It would be really really funny. The sex would be terrible but the friendship would either be painfully awkward or rock solid. Jess may unfortunately get a kick out of rage baiting her and for that I am sorry. I am, the writer, the sorry one. Jess wouldn't be sorry at all lmao. They may even date seriously before fizzling out, or even go on dates when they're bored. But there are too many big ticket things missing for the romance to have any real hope. Jesse would find her too serious, unfunny, far too nonchalant or apathetic about life. And If she turns out to be jealous, possessive, or dishonest, then the whole relationship is entirely out of the question. Maybe they can teach each other lessons about the world, life, and each other? Maybe there is still time for change? Maybe these differences fit perfectly and form a contrast that forms into a strength. But there is a 49 - 51 chance here, with the favored odds being towards the affection being brief.

Farmer for farmer. Leader for leader. Two totally different worlds, against every law of probability, collided at just the right place and time. It was literally kismet. Serendipity even. There almost isn't much to say about these two with how near perfectly aligned they are. She loves all of him. His body, his mind, his deep eyes, his deeper voice. She doesn't really believe in deserving as a concept, but she gets it a little more now, as she feels that perhaps he's too good for her, or at least that he should be with a woman who will live to see 60... Luckily for him, she wants him more than she should. And luckily for her, he's almost perfect! ...almost, that is. See... its not just that she likes her men a little fruity, which she really really does. It's that, well, in Narish culture, in various degrees from tribe to tribe, not only are "straight" couples not seen as legitimate as their queer counterparts, (an idea Jess herself doesn't really agree with) but a man being put off by the advances of other men could actually be mistaken for insecurity, or worse, weakness. It's a fusion of ancient Greek, Roman, and colonial French ideas I think?? I'd have to check my notes, but to Jess this shouldn't be much of an issue so long as he isn't actually insecure or homophobic (not that she'd know what its called). No the real sting would is that he's never been truly ostracized before, while she has. He's a man of few words but nooo less charismatic or respected and, if Jess were less mature, less secure, and more egotistical, that may have been a problem. But she isn't, so it's not. There are a million other and better things that they have bonded over, so this really isn't that big of a deal either. He's a wonderful dad to their kids and a wonderful man in general. This score does not surprise me, nor her.

This is a bingo in my heart tbh. And definitely a bingo in hers. His nose may be small, but hes so fucking beautiful that it hardly matters. He may be on the shorter side compared to her, but so is everyone, and that means he can be little spoon and borrow her oversized clothes. He may not suffer a disability, but boy has he SUFFERED, and that familiarity with pain will bring the patience that Jesse looks for in a partner she wants to rely on. Sexually, they seem to be a mismatch, but they are so devoted to each other that an effort is made anyway. By the time years have passed, this aspect of their relationship has been worked through and they've helped each other heal. He is more possessive than she'd like. She's less serious or considerate than he'd like. But otherwise theirs is a peaceful love, built on a foundation of trust and understanding.

Ah, yes, the tale of two captains. When these two crossed paths, it felt like a curtain of sorts had been lifted for both of them. This is a love for the ages, surely. Buuut a few things stand in between them. While they see a true equal in one another, there is the issue of egos. They will constantly be in each others way, accidentally undermining the other's captain-ship, purposefully submitting to the other, or having to make a show of authority if a compromise cannot be reached. She feels that a Chief outranks a captain, he feels that she is not HIS Chief or governor. But so long as their goals align, no one takes things personally, and emotions stay out of politics, this may evolve into yet ANOTHER strength of the many they already have. Two united captains are a force to be reckoned with after all. The real danger to the relationship is that lying tongue of his and that fragile trust of hers. She is trusting, somewhat gullible even, but he is capable of and even known for being manipulative. If he is ever, EVER foolish enough to lie to her, and she learns of it, it will spell the end not just of the romance, but the end of James Hook himself.

Eos might be everything Jess wishes she was: powerful, beautiful, loved, radiant. She'd be drawn like a moth to the flame! But Eos being unfamiliar with the hurdles of a mortal body, especially a disabled body, may leave Jess more burned than warmed over time. See, there is the issue of Jess feeling like a goddess would be impatient with Jess needing help. Also feeling like Eos wants her, but doesn't need her. That she may not understand that Jess needs to be needed to balance out how much she would need or rely on a partner over time. But the lack of familiarity with sadness or disability, and this new and unusual power dynamic seem to be the only hang ups! Only time with tell if things burn hot and steady or go up in smoke.

I want a thread of Jessica and the Creature bonding over a love of leaves, and she takes him to a grove in the swamp with leaves so big you can sit under them.

Just... Them sitting under a massive green leaf in the rain and he's starry eyed just.. tracing its veins and bathing in its emerald color. Maybe he sees a little beetle and it reminds him of Elizabeth. Maybe he is just happy that someone is sharing with him for once or that someone cares about his interests.

Ugh the mutual love of nature is not something Jessica gets to experience in her life and much rarer that she actually lets herself trust someone with that secret love of botany. I want to write this with every single Creature on my dash bc he deserves it qwq.
